I doubt if GL meant for Obi-wan to "speak in tongues" if you will, I think he only made it look that way as each movie came along in order to make it easier for him to cover up his previous mistakes. That's why that conversation with Luke was added in ROTJ; so people could make sense out of Obi-wan telling Luke that Vader killed his father in ANH.

So yes, they are plot holes--or were.

No they are not man...

Look...Put it this way...

Luke has just met Obi Wan...

Do you really think Obi wan is gonna blurt out what happened to Lukes father straight away...no he is not..

"Hello Luke...Oh by the way, your father was my best friend, but couldnt handle the way I was treating him, so he joined up with the Emporor and killed your mother and eevryone who cared for him..Then Fucked off and ruled the Galaxy with his new master....Don't want to scare you or anything but it might happen to you too...Oh and heres his lightsabre"

No..........

See....George knows what he is doing!!!

Actually Lucas doesnt know what the hell he's doing. From what I've read Lucas changed his mind at the last minute in ESB to make vader his father. So, how does that say he knows what he's doing? Lucas developed this story as it went on, just like he's doing it now.

Sean, I know for a fact that Shirley Eaton did not survive that paint job. I have an uncle that used to work in Hollywood and worked on the set of Goldfinger. They shot that scene on a closed set, only a few people were let into the room, because Shirley didn't want everyone to see her naked. After shooting was over my uncle was working outside when he accidentally saw two crew members carrying her golden body out of a back door. She was found dead in her apartment a month later from a drug overdose. But no one had heard from her before that happened. In fact the coroner ruled that her body had be deceased for at least three weeks before discovery. When police found her she was badly decomposed and hundreds of flies were crawling over the windows trying to get in. When my uncle first saw the men carrying her body out of the sound stage he thought she was passed out because of her known drug problems. But now he theorizes that she died while on set from paint-suffocation and the producers of the movie covered it up.

top movie monsters
Time
The Fly and Wolfman were once human, and are still 2 of the most memorable monsters ever.

My monster theory:

1. A monster must be scary and/or abnormal looking.

My theory of the Top Ten monster list from this thread:

1. Its unlikely that they surveyed a large amount of various people of different ages and backgrounds. It also unlikely that they surveyed the majority of the public; for if they did they would have a completely different list that wouldnt consist of The Skinned Werewolf, Shelob, The Troll, T-Rex, The Thing, and Tetsuo. The only people that would give those kind of answers are idiots. If this list was an official and honest one it would look something like this 1. King Kong, 2. Godzilla, 3. Frankenstein, 4. Count Dracula, 5. The Wolfman, 6. The Creature from the Black Lagoon, 7. The Blob, 8. The Alien, 9. Zombies from Night Of the Living Dead, and 10. The Mummy (no, not the remake).

That's a more accurate list my friends. If the magazine would've bothered to consider movie monsters from all years and not just the ones from recent movies, then they would've came up with a similar list.

(And the only reason why King Kong made the list is because Peter Jackson is directing the remake, so naturally, all the fanboys had to rush to his side)

Yoda - Obi wan training thing...Well you've explained that yourself, so no holes in the plot there...

Obi-Wan "took it upon himself to train him as a Jedi" - Which he did....I don't think that was the right time for Obi-Wan to tell Luke his life story....not with the big battles, and Death Stars going on an shit!!

Again....

I'm sure George Lucas knows his films...He did right them in the first place.....

Ok, so he's changing them....So...

He's not changing them so much that it's full of holes...

No, now he's just adding to an already great story!

Of course they're not plot holes now, George Lucas corrected his mistakes as each movie was produced. Which was the point vtpeters was trying to make.

I doubt if GL meant for Obi-wan to "speak in tongues" if you will, I think he only made it look that way as each movie came along in order to make it easier for him to cover up his previous mistakes. The point I was trying to make is that the OT doesnt have as much mindless action scenes as the PT. Yes, action scenes are used to move the story along. You confirm my beliefs by pointing out the significance of Luke vs Vader, but if you look at the PT does Jedi vs Darth Maul, or Jedi vs Undersea monsters really move the story along? Nope. So why are you getting so defensive when I point out the obvious?

Tetsuo? Tetsuo?! That's a movie monster? "An unbelievable giant?" huh? what? He's a kid with supernatural powers. I know Akira is a cult classic, but the majority doesnt even know who or what tetsuo is; which tells me that idiotic children made that list up. I'm surprised King Kong even made the list!

I know that some of the others are memorable monsters--like Alien, but how does Frankenstein, the wolfman, count dracula, and Godzilla get kicked out of the top ten by The skinned werewolf, T-Rex, Shelob, and the Troll from harry potter? I demand a recount!

I hate to get sarcastic, but let's think for a moment if we talk about mindless action and saber duels. If there is so much in the prequals, how about you name it?

Okay I'll name it.

TPM:
1. Jedi vs Droids on Trade Federation space station (quick obi-wan this way, we'll use the ventilation shaft)
2. Jedi vs Undersea monsters
3. Jedi rescues Amidala from Naboo
4. the pod race
5. Qui-gon-jin vs Darth Maul pt 1
6. Battle for Naboo
7. Jedi vs Darth Maul
8. Annie blows the trade federation ship (yippie I blew it up)

AOTC:
1. Jedi vs Zam Wessel
2. Obi-wan vs Jango Fett
3. Obi-wan chases Jango
4. Anakin and Padme vs Droid factory
5. Arena battle
6. Jedi vs Seperatists
7. Clonetroopers vs Seperatists
8. Jedi vs Count Dookie

Now lets examine the ones from OT

ANH:
1. Rebel blockade runner attack
2. Millenium falcon escape from Tatooine
3. stormtrooper chase on death star
4. Millenium Falcon vs Tie Fighters
5. Battle of Yavin

ESB:
1. Battle of Hoth
2. Millenium Falcon chased by Imperial fleet
3. Luke vs Darth Vader
4. Escape from empire

ROTJ:
1. Luke vs Rancor
2. Escape from Jabba
3. Speeder bike chase
4. Battle of Endor
5. Luke vs Vader

As you can see the OT relied more on story than on action. (note: I left out the tibits involving the cantina fight, sand people fight, wampa fight, etc... Because these aren't long enough to be action sequences)

If you guys know someone who loves the SE more than the original, bring them here! That's right! We need to hear from them too.

But if such person, no matter what side he is, gets annoying, or insults other forum members, than we have to avaliate if that person should remain here, not because of his opinion on the SE thing, but because of his acts. And so far, I haven't seen Jimbo do anything really offensive. So, my answer is no, do not bann him. A person should get VERY annoying to deserve being banned.

If they were old enough to masturbate more fans of the SE would be here.

How do Star Wars people go to the bathroom?

I think GL should have a online chat with fans just to answer these crazy questions, like "how do they go to the bathroom" and "does jabba have sex". And whatever he answers, that's the official answer.

GL's answers:

Q: "Do Star Wars characters defecate or urinate?" A: "No this is a PG-rated movie"

Q: "Don't they use toilets" A: "I original intended for the toilet to shoot first when making ANH, but now that cgi is possible...."

Q: "Does Jabba the Hutt have sex?" A: "Not on screen"

Q: "How does Jabba have sex?" A: "Well since we modeled Jabba after a walrus in the special edition, and since walrus's copulate by the male getting on the female.....I think you get the picture"

Q: "Are you saying that Jabba crushes his palace whores when he has sex with them?" A: "I never said that. Obviously aliens cant reproduce with different aliens, so Jabba feels no attraction to those women"

Q: "So why does Jabba have so many scantily clad women surrounding him all the time?" A: "Its a status thing"

Q: "Oh, so Jabba is a Mormon?" A: "No, the latter-day saints do not exist in SW"

Q: "So you deny god?" A: "Again you put words in my mouth. I never said god didn't exist, but in SW he is obsolete"

Q: "So what deity do the SW characters turn to then?" A: "The metaclorians"

Q: "Moving on: what made you choose the slave outfit Leia wears in ROTJ?" A: "My wife wore it on our honeymoon, but that was before....*puff*"

Q: "Why do you get so emotional all the time? Are you on painkillers?" A: "Absolutely not! I'm a PG-rated man."

Carrie Fisher vs Natalie Portman

I'm both a Conan O'Brien fan and a Futurama fan. But Futurama had the flaw of only having one very funny episode every other week, while the rest were completely stupid. By far the Conan O'Brien show has the best jokes of the late night circuit. That show has given us such memorable characters as Triumph the dog and Pimpbot 2000. But I stopped watching the show after Andy Richter left and have only caught a few episodes since then. The best thing about the show was Conan's monologue and joke segments, after the celebrities came on I turned the channel. But sometimes Conan managed to turn a boring celebrity-interview into something hilarious.

The only thing I enjoy about Moonraker is the cool opening scene, and the fact that James Bond and Jaws came to Brazil, with amusing results.

Next 007 villain will be... Palpatine.
"So, we meet again Mr. Bond. You will join the dark side, and together, we will rule the universe!"

Yes I liked that opening sequence too. But I didn't like how Jaws was portrayed. He was too pussified compared to his role in The Spy Who Loved Me.
