Really any version you like. There are no “Machete Optimized” prequels, and I don’t even think there can be, only maybe “Machete Optimized” RotJ.

I would love to be in on the screening, if that’s possible.

I’d put the opening crawl as “Episode 3”, or “Episode 2”, even, not “Episodes 1 - 2 - 3”. As cool as that was, I think it should all be just one episode. Episodes 1 and 2 (Or 1 and 3) would just be things that never came out.

Edit: I’d also add some film grain if I were you. That shit’s sexy.

Don’t use the old logos, use the one from RotS. I think it’s kinda wrong to use the logos that aren’t on the theatrical movie.

RotJ takes place 2 weeks to 6 months after ESB. So it’s even worse.

Yub Nub is atrocious. It’s bad for the same reasons Jedi Rocks is bad. The new song is much, much better.

It’s kind of refreshing to watch the SE now and again. I do that every once in a while.

idk, I quite enjoy my newly completed fanedits of AotC and RotS, and I think I might like my version of TPM, as soon as they’re done. Definitely not as good as the OT, but still decent. And tons of people love HAL9000’s edits and l8wrtr’s edits. I guess your opinion is your opinion, though.

Anyway, why are you here if you hate prequel fanedits so much? You’re not gonna stop them from happening, so what’s the point?

idk, they’re enjoyable in my own personal fanedit. Not as enjoyable as the OT, but enjoyable.

Not ROTS. The only difference between the theatrical and DVD is a cut vs. a wipe. The DVD version was shown in HD so it is available, and the BD has the proper wipe, so a reconstruction would be very simple.

In the Blu Rays, yes. But not the DVDs.

Are there any preservation efforts for the Theatrical Versions of the Prequels, most importantly the Phantom Menace? I wouldn’t be surprised it there wasn’t, they’re not popular films and there aren’t nearly as many changes, let alone controversial ones. However, there are some changes, especially to the Phantom Menace, so there might be one out there, and there definitely will be one made in the future.

Does one exist? (this totally isn’t because i’m secretly in love with the old puppet yoda…)

Can we answer with the prequels? They’re not Special Editions, but I can get the logic between pretty much every SE change. I don’t agree with the logic, but I at least get it. What I don’t get the logic behind is changing the order of a few shots at the end of AotC.
