Really anything that makes there be only one Death Star successfully is my dream edit.
Really anything that makes there be only one Death Star successfully is my dream edit.
I wonder if you could get rid of the Second Death Star to make the Endor shield generator protecting Coruscant? You could also take some inspiration from the first draft of Return of the Jedi to pull that off.
I mean, Tatooine was just a desert, Hoth was just snow, and Endor was just California. Outside of Cloud City, “alien” or fantastical looking planet designs were really just a prequel thing. I’m not saying this is good or bad, just that it isn’t unique to the sequels.
This was something I actually thought was really cool about TRoS, showing that Mustafar isn’t all volcanoes and lava. Kef Bir should have been Endor, too. I wonder how a fanedit might make that more clear.
An alternate ending to Episode 9:

This was a joke but if it came less out of left field I wonder if something like that could be pulled off. Probably not in the scope of a fanedit, though.
The playful performance Frank Oz’s voice acting gives fits the puppet’s “acting” way better than the angry, disappointed CGI model they created for AotC and refined for the 2011 TPM.
My biggest “compromised purism” in Star Wars is wanting to conform the BR cut of TPM to the theatrical cut - that is, keep the editing of the theatrical cut exactly, but with all the visual updates of the BR (CGI Yoda, mainly).
It’s the only one where something like that would outright replace any official version forever for me.
But Creepy Puppet Yoda™ looks infinitely better than CGI Yoda. CG Yoda constantly has his head at a downward angle and looks up at the people he’s talking to only with his eyes, and he lacks the little bit of expression that CPY had left. Screw consistency, I prefer a decent but weird puppet that looks nothing like the character over awkward CGI that still looks nothing like the character. 😛
I HATE creepy puppet Yoda. HATE!!!
Honestly there’s something off about the CGI Yoda in TPM. Like, it’s not looking in the right places and it’s moving too much. As bad of a puppet as it is, I kind of prefer creepy puppet Yoda.
Dominic Monaghan’s character (did he even have a name?) really only existed to replace Rose. You can’t convince me otherwise.
pfft plebs don’t even know about Jedi Master Yorp Adywan?
The SFX fanediting Jedi?
That’s a very creative and interesting idea.
Bro you need to chill with the multi posting

Honestly even RotJ capitalizing GALACTIC EMPIRE was a little too much in my opinion. From TFA, I’d keep FIRST ORDER, and from the other two I think neither have any capitalization.
Kylo Ren survives the film. Final scene shows him re-forging his mask again.
What is this, the Gotham Knight thread? lol
Could turn Coruscant into another moon of Endor, or a neighbouring planet.
I know why you would want that (for RotJ) but it would destroy my suspension of disbelief to think that right next door to the galactic capital is an untouched forest world inhabited by primitive natives.
It breaks my suspension of disbelief that sophisticated robots and strong AI exist in this universe and yet most factions still use organic soldiers and manned fighters in combat.
That’s what it was in the first draft of RotJ. The sanctuary moon of Had Abbadon that was forbidden to build or settle on.
Could turn Coruscant into another moon of Endor, or a neighbouring planet.
In the first draft of RotJ, the sanctuary moon that the shield generator was on was a moon of Had Abbadon, the capital of the Empire that had city sprawling all over the entire planet. Which is why it’s called the sanctuary moon, it was untouched by this city development, unlike the planet and its other moons.
Indeed, Tantive3+1’s proposal looks very nice, but is moving away from the theatrical version.
Well to be fair, so is this entire project with AotC and RotS. It isn’t so much a restoration of the film versions shown in theaters, it’s an edit that makes them look like film, an entire third version.
Off-topic, but that’s not actually true that the Ottomans renamed Constantinople. It had been called Istanbul for nearly half a millennium before the Ottomans. It comes from the Greek phrase “In the City” (Stin Poli).
On topic, I’m not so sure how well that works because of how Tatooine was Luke’s home planet. You might think the people of Tatooine would know about Luke’s existance, but maybe not. Plus, Luke and Rey’s interaction in TLJ, but that could be cut. It could still work.
I think it would be hard to remove the “going back to Jakku” stuff from TFA.
Should the First Order be more like modern Nazis or more like if the Nazis that escaped to Argentina made a Fourth Reich?
👏Replace👏Palpatine👏with👏Dooku👏you👏cowards!👏
Every soldier in the Final Order is headless
It’s mentioned 3 times, “I will earn your brothers saber” and “Leia’s saber”, “she surrendered her saber to me” on Achto.
All could easily be replaced/removed.
Also “There’s something my sister would want you to have.”
There are a bunch of shots, though, that show the lightsaber close to the screen that would be hard to work around or replace, which makes me worried this might not work. But anything’s doable.
Outstanding work, just wow. Beautiful!
Duracell Energizer
At the end of TRoS, have the whole Skywalker family appear to Rey.
I guess I never put two and two together that they could be the same building from different angles, but I guess it makes sense. Honestly I thought it was just a completely redone skyline since they look so different.
