Gradually becoming more hyped for this. It'd be cool if Jedi has some weird mono version too.

I will make it a thing.
"Make it so."
I think you meant "Do it!"
It's actually "Hurry"
"What a piece of junk!"
I'd be interested in learning the basic principles involved for this kind of process. I remember Criterion used a similar method for restoring the color to the badly faded 70mm trims for their Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World roadshow reconstruction.
German dubs very often change things here or there to "improve" the script they're given to work with, and the voice acting is usually pretty dang good. There are plenty of examples in the Godzilla films where the German dub is superior in most regards. I'm pretty sure the guy who dubbed Luke in the original films is in one of those actually.

This clip is fairly complete, although I still need to replace some sound where I cut out Greivous coughing, wheezing, etc. What a pain in my ass, thanks Lucas! Anyway, I'd like some feedback on two items:
1) Starting with the lightsaber fight and ending with Obi getting on his luck dragon, I cut out several beats in order to shorten things up. Does it work from a flow/geography standpoint?
2) Does it work removing the sound entirely and replacing with just the song?

The Star Wars arcade game joke at the end made me laugh.
I've encountered this sort of phenomenon in other works. The foreign negative of The Mysterians (1957) has the same type of added/deleted/retained frame count stuff around a number of special effects composites (which are noticeably more transparent compared to the domestic negative).
Excited that it's all coming together.
Star Wars has like six Japanese dubs IIRC.
I prefer the mono version myself. I enjoy most of the changes that were also carried into international mixes.

The Neimoidian voices remind me of the dubs Titra/Titan Productions did for Asian genre films.

The Clone Whores.
Ah, the joy of hoarding.
Never knew he dubbed the rest.
Oh, interesting. Thought somebody here would do this. I remember watching a few of the U.S. Ringo dubs on tape a looong time ago.
I was merely straying off topic to mention that yes, the TohoScope Showa films were cropped to 16:9 in the UK for video.
The Heisei films were physically shot hard matted to something like 1.66:1 I believe. I have an Italian copy of Biollante that reveals a bit more of the top and bottom though, so there's all sorts of special effects optical leakage.
There's at least one European tape of The Return of Godzilla's international dub that is over framed in a similar way. You can also see the telecine operator adjust the framing on the Carlton tape during the first reel of that film.
All of the UK Godzilla tapes released by 4Front and Carlton were cropped to 1.78:1.

Awakens the Force Does.
The Blu-Ray surprisingly included the mono mix, so my project is redundant (but still useful, though it's a bit technical). Version 2.0 of KKvsG is still in progress now that so much previously LD quality footage has finally been rescanned.

It's Sony's streaming website. Upon closer inspection, the Crackle version seems to be from the same master as the DVD.
The Crackle version seems to be the same as the HDTV (which might even be the DVD's HD master since so many of the color changes are the same). Now, if only somebody could somehow extract the 480p rtmp encrypted video from there. There's also an Australian DVD by Madman of the U.S. version that might use the HDTV master.
