Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

I miss comedies like this. John Candy was in a league of his own, and we’ve not had anybody like him before or since. Sadly, the chemistry between Martin and Candy hasn’t been matched either. Dinner for Schmucks attempted this formula, and it fell flat. There was something about how Candy could irritate you, but continue to hold your empathy. Carell was unable to do that. John Hughes passing left a huge void, and I’ve yet to see it filled. The same can be said about Candy.

I love the movie. I’ll watch it on TV, even if it’s censored.
Hollywood tried to recreate the comedy of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, with Due Date (2010), but failed miserably.

I’ve watched Proton Jon’s Let’s Play of Superman 64. Funny how he still hasn’t finished it.

Late to the party here, but wanted to +1 this. Proton Jon somehow manages to make going through that tedium fun, and adds a few details that make it more than the average letsplay (history of game development, character profiles, etc.)

I bought the game awhile back, and while I don’t regret it, it’s still not even that fun as a morbid curiosity.

Yes, he does make the Let’s Play Superman 64 informative while flying through rings. Heck, he even overlays quick let’s plays during those segments for extra bonus content.
