STAR WARS: EP V &quot;REVISITED EDITION&quot;<strong>ADYWAN</strong> - <strong>12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW</strong>
Time

If I'm not mistaken Ady said he was releasing an HD version to ANH:R after he completes ROTJ:R which will also bring back the red lenses for Vader's eyes.

And "Battle of the Heroes" would be out as well...right? I kinda remember something about this but it's been so long I could be completely wrong about the music.

To give an idea of what is left to do, here is a screenshot of the audio track editing timeline. each marker on the timeline represents shots left to do. As you can see, the majority of shots left to do involve one of the remaining miniatures/ props etc. Mainly the hangars, wampa and HiC. The audio is approx 80% complete. So not much left to do now ( click on image to see full size view)

 Awesome news, thanks! :D

Adywan, 005, etc. there was some talk a while ago about Ady not wanting to release ESB:R until after TFA, has this been confirmed? Is your decision final?

I mean, if it's not done by December, no problem, but if it is, why hold it? Genuinely curious if that's the case, nothing more. I'm planning on doing an OT marathon the weekend before TFA opens and would be really great to have both ANH and ESB Revisited available for it.

TFA comes out close to Christmas. Around the time of the release is, and always has been, my stopping point for doing any work on revisited. I have to plan in advance what can be achieved and completed before this time frame. Especially when building sets etc that will take up one of my rooms ( usually the dining room) . The Wampa set is one thing that can't just be moved and stored away and put back together at a later date. It has to be built, filmed and then destroyed and binned.  So, if work isn't completed before TFA is due to come out, then it won't be until the new year.

Ah! Yes that makes sense, thanks. It seems I misinterpreted or incorrectly remembered what was said back then. That the release would be held back after TFA hype went down a bit, even if it had been completed before Dec 17.

I imagine the family wouldn't be too excited about having christmas dinner inside the Wampa cave in your dining room, lol! I mean, I totally would be. Your wife/family's patience is remarkable, they too deserve credit for this crazy endeavor. :)

So, building sets and props, filming them + audio work... what % would you say is done/left to do?

I'll give you the others, but Tarkin was undeniably important. Vader was Tarkin's bitch in ANH, whether you like it or not.

HIC master looks really good! Now that the silicone has cured and it's new, rolling it for a few days should be ok, but if you leave it rolled up like that I fear it could crack and become useless. Just something to keep in mind.

I don't know if you are planning to make more than the one copy to sell, which you totally should because it looks fantastic and would really help with funds. The work you've done is unreal!

Oh man, those moving clouds! Amazing stuff!

Even the little things like a second hatch opening or Cloud City passing by at stupid speed when it closes. Vader's saber turning off, smoke from Luke's limb. Awesome!

Is the Falcon shot at 4:20 reused from the arrival at Yavin 4 in ANH? Probably not but it looked familiar. Nothing wrong with it though, looks great!

Edit: Oh and "Bring my Shuttle!" Fucking yes! :D

the Falcon Lighting is superb... Is it just a white light with colored gel or plastic or something for the cockpit back wall to get that effect it is really amazing!

I don't know the specifics of how Ady made the cockpit but I've found a very easy way to light model cockpits like this one:

Print all the walls on acetate and glue it to the original part(s) which would most likely be just a skeleton at this point to maintain structural integrity and let the light through.

Most printers will only print black on acetate, if this is the case, paint the colored lights with translucent paint from the back. If you find a place that prints acetates in color, you're good to go. In either case the most accurate way to reproduce the detail in scale would be to trace the walls in a vector based program, i.e Adobe Illustrator or the like.

Of course it is! Damnit now it's so clear I can't believe I missed it after a couple views. Thanks for clearing that up, Ady.

It's the internet, so many people are gonna complain no matter what you put out there. Sometimes good points, others splitting hairs but you should feel incredibly proud of what you're achieving here, man! I'm sure you are.

Ady the new clip looks fantastic! The extended scene works very well imo. I don't feel it drags at all. This surely has been discussed before but I can't recall, is the spider CGI or stop motion? Looks gorgeous!

Vader has a neck! THANK YOU for fixing that!!!!

The only thing I missed was the smoke coming out of the x-wing engines and perhaps as someone else pointed out, a bit of water ripple would add to the whole scene. If  the smoke is gone for good, I'd be interested in reading how you came to that conclusion, if this is an older version and the smoke has been added since, please disregard.

Awesome, awesome work Ady!

For anyone in the know...

Soooo, my actual point. Will he release ESB:R as DL and BluRay? My computer can burn DL, but not BluRay and there's no one I know who can burn BL. If DL, then great, I'll burn them both when ESB:R is released. if only BL, well... crap.

Your Best choice if you Have a Blu-Ray player but not a Burner would be the MKV 720p.

Check what file types your Blu Ray player supports also...VLC media Player supports MKV files most players do now days.

MKV files also support subtitles embeded within the file so for anyone hard of hearing this is handy for a stand alone file.

Thanks Ronster! Now that I know an MKV will be released it actually is my best option atm since my player does read MKV files. If I still don't  have a BL burner by the time it's released, this one + the special featured DVD5 will do just fine.

I do try to keep the Wordpress up to date.

There will be several official versions released:

Blu-Ray 720p BD-25
DL DVD PAL
DL DVD NTSC
720p mkv
Special features DVD-5 (only needed for mkv & DVD version as all these will feature on the Blu-Ray)

Personally, I bought an external Blu-Ray burner for $80 at Best Buy, which means I'm sure you could get one cheaper.

Thanks! I had no idea they were so cheap nowadays, it's been a couple years since I bothered checking but it looks like it's time to upgrade.

For anyone in the know...

Has Ady established at any point the kind of files he'll be releasing? IIRC The first ANH:R file released was an mp4 (or similar, avi maybe? Doesn't matter) in SD, then the DVDs in NTSC and PAL and finally the double layer release.

Back then I burned the DVD NTSC. downloaded and still have the DL somewhere in an external HD, never got to burn it and missed the instructions Ady posted in the ANH:R thread in october of possibly 2010 or 2011 ( I made sure to remember the date to go back to it when I was ready to burn the DL...but of course forgot to bookmark it AND to remember the actual date damnit!)

Soooo, my actual point. Will he release ESB:R as DL and BluRay? My computer can burn DL, but not BluRay and there's no one I know who can burn BL. If DL, then great, I'll burn them both when ESB:R is released. if only BL, well... crap.

Geonosis. The one thing that bugged me the most out of all that sequence was, and still is Natalie Portman jumping/landing crotch first on the back of the Reek(?) beast thing. I mean, NOT ONE PERSON had the balls to tell GL jusy how stupid that looked? Come on! Ady, if you are keeping that in AOTC:R, please do something about that landing. Please!

Could this be more than just a beautiful Photoshopped mock-up?! I want to believe!

It's a screengrab taken from the finished video

But...but...what if I'm watching ESB:R in June?! That would look completely out of place Ady, please reconsider!!!! :P

Looks gorgeous!

The X-wing has the landing lights , but no cockpit lights. Didn't really need any lighting in the cockpit as the canopy is closed

Damn, man! That's incredible. Even though it's invaluable, I hope it goes for a massive amount of cash in the near future to some very lucky fan...with lots of space!

Amazing model Adywan! is that the 1/32 Fine Molds X-wing?

 It's the fine molds 1/72 x-wing

I'll be moving up to 1/48 scale or greater for the rest of the saga.

I fucked that up, yeah I meant if it was the 1/72! Thanks for confirming. I remember building that one when it first came out and looking at it right now to get a sense of the miniature actual size....it's huge!

You didn't go as far as installing fiber optics on it, did you? Wouldn't be surprised if you did tbh. Will you light the 1/48 or will all cockpit/landing lights will be digitally added later?
