My roommate is also going on maybe 6 months of unemployment. He's miserable to be around sometimes. It's tough. And he is looking for the dream job. I'm not in love with my job, and it isn't certainly my dream job, but I've been there for 5+ years and I have opportunity for professional development.

Sometimes it's best to start with a job, get some cash and self-esteem and then look for that career.
