Personally, I like the character of Elan, it is just the name that is stupid. But that is really just an issue of the credits, which I don't read. Not at home at least. And Death Sticks is a great name for a drug. It seems like it is something that they would call it.

Well, heck. It seems like he had a front row to all that was shot. I just don't know how much he would have been able to have seen. Can you ask him about some of the cut scenes? Would he know if, for instance, much of the 'lightman' stuff was filmed? Peter Diamond followed 3PO down the corridor to the throne room. Would Toby have seen anything like this? Was it him in the From Star Wars to Jedi special who was smoking the cigar?

Thanks for the codec. I spent 1/2 hour last night trying to download that blasted RealPlayer just so I could watch the clips. Which were awesome. Then I uninstalled it again. Man, those Real players are evil.

The biggest problem with using the extra dialogue from the ESB footage is that it has no closure. But in the ADM edit, he has it at the end of the credits as a bunus shot that acts as sort of a cliff-hanger till the next movie. It works there.

I'm liking BOTH the idea of Vader overhearing the Skywalker name over the radio during the trench run and having him talk to the Emperor in ANH. ADigitalMan did a clever thing by adding the extra lines from the new Emperor SE scene into a new postscript for his edit of ANH. That way he still had the Emperor scene in ESB that matched the original.

I envision the first reveal in the trench like this:

INT. MASSASSI OUTPOST - WAR ROOM
Leia and the others stand watching the projected screen.

INT. DARTH VADER'S COCKPIT
REBEL BASE VOICE
(over speaker)
His computer's off. Skywalker, you switched off your targeting computer. What's wrong?

LUKE
(over speaker)
Nothing. I'm all right.

Vader is taken by surprise, and looks out from his cockpit.

VADER
What?!

Vader's targeting computer swings around into position. Vader takes careful aim on Luke's X-wing fighter.

VADER
Skywalker! I have you now.

He pushes the fire buttons.

EXT. SURFACE OF THE DEATH STAR
The three TIE fighters move in on Luke. As Vader's center fighter unleashes a volley of laserfire, one of the TIE ships at his side is hit and explodes into flame. The two remaining ships continue to move in.

Later...

INT. VADERS MEDITATION CHAMBER
Darth Vader kneels before a giant holographic image of his master, Emperor Palpatine. (Palpatine's theme music is heard in the background).

Vader: "What is thy bidding, my master?"

Palpatine: "The young rebel who destroyed the Death Star. I have no doubt this boy is the offspring of Anakin Skywalker."

Vader: "How is that possible?"

Palpatine: "Search your feelings, Lord Vader. You know it to be true."

I really want to keep the lines of Palpatine telling Vader to search his feelings as they have a nice parallel with the big reveal at Bespin.

Luke: "No... that's not true... that's impossible..."
Vader: "Search your feelings, you know them to be true."
