Poll: Do You Think the OUT will be Released Again in '07?
Time
^^True. I think the OUT's will be available again, the only difference is this is the only time we will be able to buy them as single movies. I also am sure we won't be seeing the '77 version of Star Wars again (if it is the actual version, which doesn't look likely), it will be "A New Hope" from now on if it is released as an OUT disc in the future.

The legendary "Starkiller Ranch" Thread

A second Death Star would be really tough to pull off plot wise. If one wanted to put a second one in for the purposes of just having something cool to look at, I wouldn't mind it if it wasn't sticking out too much. Maybe there could be the most basic of a Death Star skeleton floating around Endor as well. It could not be even close to operational with out adding in more plot complications than we can deal with.

I would love to see this done

Well, that pic of Leia isn't actually in the movie. All of these tactical displays in the Yavin base look cool with their concentric circles, but I have never seen anything in the movie that hints at the displays being useful. With the exception of the rount tabletop displays of course. I'd like to see a bit of movement put on these plastic vertical displays.

Star Wars DVD Covers
Time
I'm liking these new projects. As far as the Laserschwert ones go, they look great, although I'd recommend ditching the old chrome logo. It was al I would see back when the Hasbro toys were first released, and most of the very early DVD cover prototypes used it. I'd use a logo that is a better match to that original poster art.

Tim, I like the approach of having a template you could just plug in what ever graphic you need for the cover. I think I'd just use the DVD cover art for the front instead of the actual picture of the DVD. I think it would look better if you would crop it closer.

Wow, can't wait to see how the emperor will be fit into ANH. Are you sure you don't want to spoil it for us? Hehe

Just out of curiosity, where in ANH would the tombstones be visible?

It's still only in the idea stage and there is a chance that i won't be able to incorporate the Emperor into ANH, so i'm keeping that under wraps at the moment.

the only possible shot that the tombstones would be visible is the first frame of the shot where Luke returns home to find the bodies of Own & beru. Its the shot taken from lukes point of view as he pulls up in the landspeeder. Even then they might well still be out of frame.

It seems almost appropriate that you would be able to see the tombstones there for that shot. It would be interesting to see if that shot could be widened or reframed in a way to include them. It would be cool to see the stones smoldering as well from some stormtrooper vandalism.

The "original crawl" on the new DVD is NOT the original crawl! Screenshot inside!
Time
By now, we have all seen the WookieeGroomer rip-off.. I mean the 1977-2004 comparison page on the official site. It does have several shots of the old '77 crawl. Does this contribute to this thread? I'd also be curious to see how the editdroid recreation stacks up against this if anyone has any screen grabs handy.

Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side (the TM edit) (Released)

Indeed, should Jar Jar talk in the same high pitched voice but in a different language? The current voice doesn't bother me as much as long as Ahmed Best is keeping the conversation straight forward. The squealing is what gets on my nerves. Putting the voice in a different language would eliminate that much maligned 'Stepin Fetchit' aspect. I think the voice needs to keep some of the original tone, or the shock of something new will drive folks bonkers. Remember the outcry at Anakin's dub? I'd say that Jar Jar's voice needs to be different, but familiar. Or as George would say, "Same thing, only better!"
