Anyone have any good scans of the art on the back of the collectable coin booklet that is in stores. And while I am at it, does anyone have a good scan of the poster art used on the collectible tins that Hasbro is selling figures in? Particularly the prequel ones. The OT tins have the John Alvin art on them and most of us already have those.
I agree with Zombie on this. It seems likely that the opening adventure is taking place to stop Soviet Agents from stealing something from that Army base. Then the story continues with the Mesoamerican stuff.
Remember the movies always have had a mini-adventure and the main one.
Raiders: The fertility idol in South America and then the Lost Ark Temple of Doom: The ashes of that oriental guy in Club Obi-wan then the Shankara stones. Last Crusade: The Cross of Coronado then the Holy Grail.
I had no idea that the X0 team was so cute. I want to scratch MeBe behind the ears. Soon as you guys finish, you get treats!
Seriously, I'd love to see a bit more work with ROTJ than another ANH. With the GOUT, Ady's and DE's versions, plus Paulisdead's version, I'm good on ANH for a long while.
Now today is the day that (supposedly) love is in full bloom and creatures from all across the galaxy turn their thoughts from rebellion to romance.
The current contest consists of capturing a scene celebration romance in the Star Wars galaxy. Jabba cuddling with a Jawa? Greedo and Han kissing and making up? Whatever you want, as long as it is funny and touching. Or just funny.
The rules: 1. Have it done by the March 7th. That should be enough time. 2. Keep it clean. My contest and that's the way I like it. 3. Items from any movie or cartoon or whatever would be accepted. Just make it funny.
The Prizes: Since it is a PiF contest, I'll send winner (pending it is done on time*) a full version of Adywan's "Star Wars: Revisited" with cover and printed disc plus a few other DVD's that I am still tracking down.
Good luck and have fun.
*The winner might have to wait just a bit if the DVD is delayed.
Originally posted by: Sluggo I think IMDb is incorrect about this. We researched this quite extensively over on the 70mm ESB thread. The end of ESB was different, but it was because they added new model shots. Maybe the original 70mm version had a leap to hyperspace, but the IMDb is the only source for this item. I haven't seen this claim anywhere else.
What was the original like, then? I'm curious. Still, it could be added. It would look better as the ending, I think.
KFan, try here. I put up some screen caps of what the original and the reshoot shots were.
Creating a reconstructed 70mm version of Empire is a worty project just waiting for someone to jump in and get it done.

The ending shot needs all the ships jumping into lightspeed, and then fade to the credits. In early versions it used to be that way, but for some reason it has been changed.
Originally posted by: Chrille Personally, I would darken the Emperor's hologram A LOT in ESB. The Emperor's face is gradually revealed in ROTJ; it starts out entirely in shadow when he first arrives and we don't get a close-up until Luke arrives. In a way, we se Palpatine at the same time as Luke does.
Not to be picky, but the original version has always been pretty clear for up to 17 years until the change. The idea of the Emperor being hidden and unknown is largely influenced by the prequels.

Laserman also gave some advice on the process in this thread.
That was a special moment that will live in my heart forever.

I credited sluggo for his text.
if you can squint, you see the credits includes "Sir Alec Guinness" (knighted in 1959) and includes "with James Earl Jones as the voice of Darth Vader"
