I like confusing bkev, but Frink tells me to discontinue doing that.

But that's what I do best!
Like that post about The Beatles from June 12? And I posted a picture labeled June 11, hinting at the song "Yesterday". Those were good times.

There is no need to have Maul get torn apart in episode I and then torn apart again in episode II. He is simply being rebuilt into Grevious somewhere in the background o episode II until he is somehow revealed.
...
This is something I am trying to wrap my head around as well. If we have any indication of Maul in Episode 2, he should be fully formed as grevious. The 10 year gap between Episodes 1 and 2 is too long for him to be floating in a bacta tank.
I can see the Maul torso falling but never actually hitting the bottom, but being caught in arcing electric currents near the bottom. Stuck in these currents would make him crispy.
I miss the days of buying CD's in the longboxes.

Perhaps, "We don't need their scum..." is short for "We don't need their scum, we can do the job well enough on our own. I'm insulted they've been brought on board- they can't possibly do better than we are already doing."
That could be the prequel version of the dialogue.
Print is dead.
What about the Twinkie!?

The walk-by I was talking about is simply not working.... But I may have another idea.
Let me ask this question.... If we go through with this Maul/Grevious idea, would it be acceptable that maybe Maul received new eyes resulting in the eyes he has as the general? Maybe his old eyes no longer function due to the fall?
It seems we need some type of connection between Maul and Grevious to bridge the gap. The eyes always seemed to be the best (or easiest) way to do this.
Who knows. All I know is that if the rule isn't followed, some guy you have never met in real life will put you on Probation.
Jack-Wagon
I gotta agree with this. It is great that the Shroud is back up.
Bacta-stasis
Ah, cool. I had a hunch you were on top of things. I'll keep my eyes open.
I am thinking about the possibility of modifying the chute. They are in the power plant, after all. Maybe there could be lots of electrical bolts and currents down there.
EDIT: Episode 2 is 10 years later than Episode 1. Work on a cybernetic Maul needs to be done in Episode 1's time frame. Unless they had Maul's body in some kind of Bacta-stasis the whole time.
You've seen the Flunk pics, right. Some of them are a bit funky.
Not trying to dig up old problems here. I just remember the Flunk not necessarily being all it was cracked to be. Of course, maybe it has been fixed since then.
It has been fun looking through the old 1997 SE TB Digital Broadcast thread.

I guess the reason I always wanted to set it up for the audience before the opening of episode 3, was to improve the impact of a lot of Grievous' wheezy/coward behaviour. If I knew that was Maul, I'd think "he's doing pretty good for a dead man" instead of "who is this new, awkward character and why can't he be more bad-ass?"
The suggested way for Obi Wan to learn the Maul/Grievous connection is for Grievous' eyes to be shaded most of the movie and then revealed as Maul's when he and Obi Wan finally face off in close-ups. It's a very good spot because it's directed as the moment when "it gets personal"... except that there really isn't anything personal about it. This story change is, in part, to help add the element that would have made that fight totally work.
That works for me.
It would be interesting to see if we could tweak the situation of Obi-wan blasting Grevi-maul and toss away the weapon so his "How primitive" line refers to Maul or the fact that Maul was only after revenge or something. But this is a discussion for another time.
I mentioned earlier how Maul is could be in pretty good shape (aside from being cut in half) the last time we saw him. How does he end up from a cup topper
to cyborg road-kill?
*raises hand*
I gotsta question. If we coda the Grevious/Maul bit in Episode 2, would it lose anything for the audience when Obi-wan finds out in Epidose 3?

Woot, the wurld cup is over? Who won?
Dead tread........
Yup. I can't wait to see what new craziness happens in 2014. Until then, I declare this thread cast into the gorge of eternal peril.

didnt want to ruin Ady's episode v thread so here goes....
I just read about the maul/grevious merger on the shroud of the darkside thread, and it got me wondering what a rebel pilot merged with an R2 unit would be like.
Then an x-wing doesnt need a pilot and and R2 unit - space saved for more weapons/coffee maker me thinks!
maybe this can be incorporated into return of the jedi :P
Somebody make a mock up of this!
Or Roger Moore signing a picture of Sean Connery?
Checks are in the mail. Likely.
