I seemed to stumbled into a lol duel.

thanks, Sluggo, I'll try, but I also WANT to make mistakes, as it's about damn time that I did SOMETHING!
Mistakes are not a bad thing when we learn from them, and we all make them, but they are just that. Mistakes. Doing things on purpose with the intention of having things go bad is just, well, stupid. Doing things with the intention of taking risks and learning things is what makes us human. But we are fools if we don't weigh the risks first hand. I'm really just trying to speak in general terms and let you apply what you want. It's your life.
Granted, maybe Darth Solo's case is an extreme one (my apologies in advance DS) but I'd prefer to learn from his example than repeat his footsteps.
Not trying to be preachy, but I just wanted to chime in with a bit of advice.
Nice little poem there. I've got one grandfather left, so I consider myself lucky.

Okay guys, as I already posted in the "last movie seen" thread, a question.
Note: I know, this is gonna sound random, but also foolish, childish, or whatever, but this is intended to be half-serious, meaning that I will appreciate some serious replies, but I also encourage you (I'm looking at you, Frink... Mhh-hey-hey mmh glavin :) ) to be silly, I won't get offended.
okay, here goes.
What does it mean when a girl gets you drunk?
Let me elaborate on this:
She's a girl that I kinda dig, a little older than me, and we were out with some other friends, at a little restaurant. They were just drinking, I was the only one to eat something.
After a while my meal got really... well it got me thirsty, and I had already finished my beer, so I casually told her (we were sitting next to each other) "Too bad I hadn't ordered water, also, cause this is making me thirsty", and she said : "I've got some wine in the car. If you want some I'll go get it." (mind you we were outdoors )
So I say yes, thanks, I'll have some. Well, long story short, even after leaving the place and while continuing the evening, we both drank and drank from that bottle, and she kept on filling my paper cup, until she was kinda intoxicated, and I was absolutely piss-ass drunk. Really, this was probably the first time in my life I had so much alchohol that I could not keep my balance, and the next morning I had a hungover, also first one.
And I was thinking (and I'm sure I even asked her) why? I know she is a fun-loving person, but could there have been some (other) purpouse? There's a little spot in my mind that says she could be interested in me...
Has this happened to any of you? What are your thoughts?
My advice: Be mindful, young apprentice.
Ah! My apologies, Davnes007. I was doing some posting at my breaks at work and there was too much Erica (and she was showing off too much lately for my tastes) for me to have her on my screen at work. You can post what ever you want and I'm cool with that, but I just need to keep her off of my screen.
Cop Out looked really funny. Maybe it would overwrite the spot in my brain where Hollywood Homicide is.

There is a lot in the Bible which is frankly evil and to a large number of people it is seen as the direct and perfectly transcribed word of God in two handy to thump volumes.
Like the majority of religious texts, unless you are well versed in the long history of it's creation and translation it can be used as justification to persecute just about anyone.
I don't think that this is a problem with the Bible itself, but rather the intentions a reader brings with him when reading the Bible. If you go in looking for justification for your actions, you are likely to find it, even if it means ignoring the rest of the text.
Ah, I see. I'm glad that is was a safe for work pic. I had to block Davnes007 as I don't want Erica (?) showing up on my screen at work. Could get me in trouble. Besides I have enough gunk in my noggin as it is. I don't want lots of pictures of womens in their unmentionables in there as well. But maybe that's just me. I like keeping my thoughts Safe For Work.
I haven't either.
But this isn't the Last movie not seen thread...
moving on...

I'm not exactly a Christian myself but knowing that Mel is shouldn't he be following the big man's advice Mathew 5:40, Luke 6:29 and all that?
If you are in a club you should at least try to follow the club rules.
I'd agree with this. For someone who is so vocal about his discipleship, he seems to use a lot of words that go against 'club rules'*. I have a tough time with this as I don't want people to think that his language is typical for the rest of his fellow Christians.
Not that I am perfect, but c'mon Mel! It's like you aren't even trying.
Looks like this thread has another font glitch.

^Warb ^Frink ^Sluggo (laughing just out of frame.)
go tango somewhere else, please.
Fixed.
No, silly Frink. A group stages a free showing of the Theatrical Star Wars movie thing and LFL shows up to rain on their parade, LFL looks foolish because of their shenanigans. What could be more obvious!?*
Contrived my eye!
I'm thinking that this is an awesome way to trap LFL into some much deserved public shame!
I wasn't writing about Ferns. I'm just thinking about Nerf backwards while walking down that forested area.
Or maybe : "I am sending you to the Mustafar system in the Outer Rim. It really bothers my asthma, but you will be safe there".
And which one are you?
that is so phat!
nerf backwards
I'll bring my umbrella. And the spf 22 CO-screen.
Yeah, this was a good thread. Props to bkev for making it. And kudos to bkev for giving it an expiration date. Nothing worse than a thread getting all stale on the shelf.

Neo-nazis and the KKK. Alright, I guess I did know about them. But:
A) Don't they pretty much hate everybody?
B) Aren't their numbers/impact pretty small these days?
C) Are they really affected by a Mel Gibson movie?
And finally: Are there rational people that feel this way?
We studied them in some college classes a few semesters ago, but I'm hardly an expert.
My thoughts are that
A. Well, yes. But once the Jews and the Blacks are taken care of, then I'm sure they would turn their attention to other groups. Gays, maybe.
B. Their numbers are growing steadily. Having a black man elected to the office of President of the United States has become a point to rally around.
C. I'd bet they were more moved by Lethal Weapon than The Passion of the Christ
D. That's the problem with rational. I know many folks who would say your beliefs are irrational, even though you would strongly disagree. I wouldn't be spared the same treatment with my own beliefs. Rational is unfortunately rather relative to ones own personal experience.

OK, let's get some positive energy going here. I'm sure you are a good person, are fair, just and honorable, etc. Cut yourself some slack, man!
Ferris wouldn't agree with you. He has me on ignore. : (
Well that is his problem then, not yours. It's just politics, not reality.
