Avatar 35mm Opportunity?
Time

I was scouring around eBay lately and found a 35mm print of 2009’s Avatar from James Cameron. It appears to be a 2:39:1 copy that was used in theaters, which is quite different when compared to the home video releases. Sadly, I am not experienced at all with 35mm prints nor have I once scanned them. But I may have some tricks up my sleeve with using Adobe After Effects and other programs to a full scan to life…maybe if someone can aid me with that too. I myself am a huge fan of Avatar and I’d be curious to see how it looks in 35mm. Does anybody here want to handle getting this print and scanning it at all?

Cartoon Network's Action Flicks television premiere of Justice League: The New Frontier?
Time

Does anybody have some recording of the TV cut of 2008’s Justice League: The New Frontier? I was one of those kids who saw the movie on its Cartoon Network premiere back in the day and I wanted to see the differences between the official retail release and the TV edit. Maybe make an HD version out of the TV cut.

The film ran four times on Cartoon Network.

Looking For Star Trek TV Spots -
Time

Here are the TV Spot compilations I made for Star Trek: First Contact and Star Trek: Nemesis.

If you have any Star Trek TV spots I could use to update these compilations, please feel free to DM me on Discord or PM me on this site. It would mean so much to preserve any advertisements from most of the Trek films.

Looking For Star Trek TV Spots -
Time

I haven’t been active on here for quite a while now. Anyway, I was trying to find other TV spots for all the Star Trek films, especially Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan. I wanted to make a compilation of all these spots.

So far, I only found these.

Then, of course, there is this, but it was completely merged together in a bad manner.

Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you

A few months ago I found one of the 82 re-release commercials on VHS tape I bought at a junk shop.

Give me a few days and I can send you a better copy.

Edit: I also have a commercial for SPFX: The Empire Strikes Back if there is any interest.

I don’t like bringing back old threads, but that recording of the TV spot was a necessary source I used to bring it in HD. It sucks I could not be able to see it again.

The Rise of Skywalker: Ascendant (Released)
Time

I have an alteration you could consider. Why not bring back the Emperor as a Force ghost and drain the life force of Rey and Ben to come back in the flesh in the movie’s third act? It was an idea inspired by an original draft from Return Of The Jedi, where Obi-Wan and Anakin came back in the flesh. However, it would be a power only the Sith knows how to use.

Yeah, I don’t know how long until he releases v2.0 of his theatrical ROTS, but I’m sure you can send him a PM for a link to v1.0 (unless you have a MySpleen account, in which case you can snag it from there).

Unfortunately, I screwed up heavily on myspleen. It sucks another account cannot be made on there. Thinking about it just upsets me. 😠

Schorman beat you to it a while back - I can’t find a dedicated thread for it, but it’s an offshoot of this project:

https://originaltrilogy.com/topic/schormans-HDTV-Star-Wars-Saga-Preservation/id/16702/page/1

He just recently released a v2.0 of the HDTV versions, and has said he intends to release a v2.0 of his theatrical ROTS using the updated video once he finishes with some tweaks to the audio.

I never knew that was coming.

This is a project I had in mind for quite a bit. My goal for this project to make an decent high-definition preservation of Revenge of The Sith as it was seen in theaters. When the film first came out on DVD on November 1st, 2005, the original audio remained the same, but one visual alteration was made to the movie (where we had a transition from Obi-Wan in Padme’s shuttle to the Emperor arriving to pick up a badly wounded Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader from Mustafar). That transition came back around in the 2011 Blu-Ray release, but there were a few audio and visual alterations made. The Rise Of Skywalker will be coming out this December, so it’d be rather fitting if I do this project.

Blu-Ray alterations:

No sources are available for this project. I would be happy and more pleased if anyone here can send me some to start with.

Sources Required:

The 2011 Blu-Ray release
The 2005 DVD release
The leaked workprint
