Burning AVCHD via Mac
Time

Here’s what I’ve been able to do thus far successfully.

I’ve burned several of the AVCHD files (under 8.5 gb) onto DVD-R-DL discs (typically 8.5 gb capacity). Although this isn’t the same as burning some of the 20+gb versions on Bluray I have been VERY happy with the results. I’ve even screened Harmy’s SW 2.5 on a theatre sized screen with Dolby surround (I work in a theatre) and the quality was astounding

To burn you cannot simply auxiliary click the file and hit burn. First step is to open your Disk Utility. Click File > Open Disk Image. Select your iso file and hit open. Once you do this the iso file will show up in the left column as a disk image. Select the root disk and hit burn. When done properly your disk should play automatically when you put it in your Bluray player. Chapters will be functional

Again, I know the big downside is the gb size limitation which won’t allow elaborate menus and special features etc. but as I said the quality is still outstanding. I’ll be picking up an external BR Burner soon and will share any pertinent info here
