I know ripping from the VIDEO_TS folder isn’t optimal, but when I attempt to re-encode the larger versions, the resulting file is usually corrupted, or the process itself bombs my Mac. The tablet rips are used primarily on my iPhone 6, while the VIDEO_TS will go straight to a DVD-5 for viewing on an old Panasonic 13" CRT television.

I used Handbrake on my Mac and re-encoded the MKV to MP4. From there I used a some freeware - Subler (awesome program) to import metadata (gives you a movie description and attaches it to the file). After you add this you choose your artwork (provides many options) and it attaches it to the file. Hit save. Hit optimize. Hit Send To iTunes. Then it will be syncable with your iPhone thru iTunes and will place it in your Videos app along with all your other movies/purchases.
I have SW 2.5, ESB 2.0 and ROTJ 2.5 all on my iPhone 6 using the steps above and they look absolutely incredible. I may throw together a YouTube tutorial if it would be helpful to ppl.

…When I attempt to open the file ‘frd.jar’ a pop up says “frd.jar is damaged and cannot be opened” bearing in mind I’m using a Mac.
I’m not a Mac expert. At all.
Maybe your java isn’t installed properly? And even if it is, maybe your system doesn’t associate ‘jar’ files to open with java correctly?
Can you open a shell prompt, go to the folder with the jar, and type something like
java -jar frd.jar?
I use a Mac. A certain Downloader I discovered through YouTube tutorials successfully grabbed and downloaded all rars from teh. Hope that points you in the right direction
Having watched the film again today, I still am struck by how the biggest event that felt out of place was the reveal of Luke. The film would have been much better if they had cut to credits as Rey makes the jump to lightspeed.
Disagree. There was definitely an element of cliffhanger ending, but at the same time something about it was just so satisfying. I thought the end was very well balanced in that regard

Pardon my ignorance but is there a Star Wars '77 35MM Grindhouse? I thought there was only TN1’s ESB Grindhouse 35MM and this new ROTJ one.

yes, they’re protected by macrovision like virtually all comercial tapes. some places will convert others wont. I did mine myself with honestech vhs to dvd 5.0, has no problem with copy protection.

Make sure the file is an iso first. You can convert with tsmuxer if it is still an MKV. Use disk utility. But you’ll need to go File > open disk image, then you’ll see it appear on the left. Select it and hit burn
If I’m not mistaken you need to use tsmuxer to convert it to an iso. Burn the iso

So not REALLY worth the investment in a Blu-Ray burner then? Sound isn’t amassive issue to me as I only play through a sound bar or TV Speakers anyway.
I work in a theatre and got some friends together to watch SW 2.5 AVCHD on the BIG screen. I couldn’t A-B it with the MKV, but I seriously had ZERO complaints. Not sure if it’s worth the investment. Unless you want the extra gigs to be able to have a BR with a fancy menu and extras, etc…
