*hurls bossk's vomit at Shimraa*

You are merely trying to hide your anger from revealing itself!

As a Jedi i fight to protect the innocents within this forum from your dark side techniques! The grammer of doom and the spelling from hell! You only fight to further yourself, to worm your way into the council, and to destroy those Jedis beneath you!

*follows through with a sword swipe*

We can never know what the world would be like if something had happened differently.

Good grief! Not that different!!

one can say this with alot of sencerity that if those 300 000 had not been killed and if japan had not surrendered, then millions more people would have been killed. (spelling and grammer check performed for clarity)

Completly and utterly agree. If the Soviets and the Americans had entered Japan, the japanese would have been crushed. In the battle of Okinawa I mentioned earlier %50 of a population of over 300000 was wiped out. scary. How odd it is that the tool that created a cold war that lasted decades, in the one time it was used brought peace.

edit: added second bit to avoid double post

Whooo, entering the realm of american presidential politics.

I'm not touching this.

I will however agree on the forcing people to vote thing.

Failing to vote is essentialy admitance to the failure of democracy. As soon as people have no confidence in any presidential canadite or party platform, and decide to vote for no-one, that spells anarchy to me.

Warming to Cause Catastrophic Rise in Sea Level?

If there was a freak ice age, I doubt that we in our comfy homes would have much to worry about. I mean think about it for a second. We have heaters, blankets, all the necessitys we would need for a long time to come. Even if it required living in communal homes like the vikings of old, we would still survive. Life may not be the same it always was, but being human equates to the ability to survive.

And personally, I think snow year round would be pretty cool.

Good, then we agree. . Sorry about the out of context thing.

The fact of the matter is that becoming President of the USA has much more to do with public perception (manufactured or otherwise) and one's connections within the political machine (not what you know but who you know). There are those who argue that you could have nominated a trained monkey as GOP and the race would have turned out the same.

You're assuming that the majority of americans are complete idiots who are totally swayed by the media. Even if something tlike that happened it means that the people backing the president are complete political geniuses to pull it off. So if a stupid president was elected, he would have good advisors to back him up.

This, of course, was one of the first things to go when the Constitution was reformed following WWII.

Of course, that was one of the conditions set out by the allies. The only reason Japan was able to surrender was because the emperor agreed to this. The japanese people wanted to keep the emperor in power.

In some cases, more information can be obtained by analyzing the obscure than by observing the obvious.
Ie. In some cases, looking at the conpiracy theories may make the truth stand out.
Maybe the theorists know more than we do.
Ever read Hitchhikers Guide? Maybe the world is crazy and the few people we think are mad are the truly sane........
