Is the HK Blu Ray region free? I was interested in Conan The Destroyer too, since the U.S. release doesn't have any extras, and the old DVD isn't even 16:9 enhanced.

The Prunefaces got a little lost, and ended up being captured by the Dulocks. They eventually joined forces to battle Imperial Walkers, who were also lost, which explains their absence in defending the shield generator.
One unfortunate Pruneface was also eaten by a Gorax, who mistook him for an actual prune. ;)

Funny thing is, one of the Japanese SW clones literally has the same sequence of events and was made almost five years earlier! The only difference is it's an entire planet that has been made into a roving Death Star clone.
Wish I knew more about telecine processes of the era. Probably lost to time and new technology now.

I just recently finished taking a course, after the final class a bunch of us went out for a celebratory drink. So everyone shares a little about their lives and eventually I can't help but mention the shit i'm involved in being investigatory into this SW thing. A literal spit take from one of the group, and that's fine but it's that look afterwards like, 'you complete waste of existence', that comes to their face. Which just drills home how off the map we really are here.
My experience has been that just about anything that doesn't involve sports, booze, guns, or women will get that reaction though. ;)
Thankfully, I'm getting way too old to give a crap what other people think of my hobbies anymore.
Why would they recrop? Seems like a lot of extra work on a non anamorphic image where it wouldn't even be visible on most consumer television sets of the day.

Are all the people who make stormtrooper armor (and other iconic SW costumes) in their garage and sell on places like Ebay or elsewhere too small potatoes for Lucasfilm to care about?
I got a trooper helmet off Ebay a few years back that's pretty nice, but I have no idea who made it.

The doc definitely used clips with the mono mix. Listen to the sounds the chess table makes when buttons are pressed. You can hear the same sound effects in Puggo Grande.

Now if only Paramount could release Heston's "Secret of the Incas" so we can all see how much George and Steven borrowed from it for Raiders! ;)

It will be interesting to see if Peter Jackson's remake of The Dam Busters uses real models over CGI. The original 1955 film influenced the Death Star attack.

According to the IMDB, Conrad's narration was replaced on the last VHS release in the '90's.
