3D STAR WARS for the masses...has ARRIVED!
Time

Doesn't bode so well for revival screenings if the studios aren't going to replace worn out rental prints, or convert their libraries to screen in the new format.

All the theaters near me were built before digital, but are totally converted now, or soon will be. Whether they've kept the 35mm projectors in place or ripped them out, I have no idea.

Actually knowing how to operate a film projector is on it's way to becoming a lost art.

How did Luke not know Vader was his old man?
Time

We really don't know what the average Joe in the SW universe thinks about the Jedi in the OT. We do see someone alert the sandtroopers about the altercation in the Cantina. People probably get fried almost daily in that dive, but a Lightsaber was seen.

Over the years, people might clam up to get by under the new boss, people pass away without sharing their memories of the CW, memories fade, history books are rewritten by the victors, and younger people have not a clue.

There are people in this world who think the moon landings were faked in a tv studio. Disbelief in Jedi or the Force isn't that much of a stretch. (Especially if there is an Imperial propaganda machine in place.) Han might not have been anywhere near the war in his young life anyway.

I lean towards Anakin's fate being spin doctored by Palpatine. Savior of the new Empire dying at the hands of the evil traitorous Jedi makes for good press. The truth is far too complicated anyway.

And if you're the boss of the Galaxy, once you bring in the new guy in the scary armor and heavy breathing, nobody dares to ask too many questions.

All Palpy needs to do is introduce Vader as a injured Jedi who had remained loyal.

Tarkin and others know Vader is a former Jedi, but probably little else.

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)

You do know there was a very valid technical reason for the mono mix, right?

Nobody in 1977 knew if Dolby stereo was a flash in the pan or here to stay.

See any movies in Sound 360 lately?

Comparing the mono mix to the SE changes is mind boggling. There are many films that have different sound mixes. It's just that Star Wars' mixes has been documented in excruciating detail.

I watched Krull on DVD recently, and noticed a line was added when Liam Neeson's character dies in the stereo mix. It wasn't in the 5.1 mix, which I presume was derived from the 70mm.
