Did you ever get that fullscreen Jedi DVD?
Did you ever get that fullscreen Jedi DVD?
900 year old Jedi masters do need their naps. ;)
Does Ki-Adi-Mundi have any lines in the movie? I can't recall. Given his resemblance to the Coneheads, it would be really funny if he spoke like one.

In 1985 there was a re-release of JEDI that was a total non-event, and was pretty much part of the last gasp of SW, entering its lowest point of popularity. In tickets sold it's not that far off from this much more expensive reissue, so what does it take for LFL to acknowledge any kind of flaw in their M.O.? (the M.O. being: really little kids are the only thing that matters, the rest of you who supported this thing for 20 years can suck it. Maybe it's a little off-putting? Maybe?)
Did they promote it much? I don't even recall the reissue, although I saw a lot of movies that year.
Maybe dial down the moos so they are more subtle in the mix? (Except for one more audible moo or two from the Shaak being ridden.)
Then bring the moos all the way back up when Padme and Anakin are rolling in the grass. That part makes me laugh. It's like the Shaaks are frightened by them. That's your punchline.
I wish I had saved all my SW newspaper clippings. They are a nice reminder of those days.
I honestly thought Watto sounded Italian!
I'm stumped for funny sounding cows, save for that scene in Kung Pow.
I did have another idea for Shaak sounds.

With all the fuss over Lando's new threads, nobody ever stops to consider Leia's disguise in ROTJ.
There's a dead, naked bounty hunter lying around somewhere...
It's dubbed. Carol Burnett was on Conan promoting it recently.
You've improved the meadow scene tenfold! ;)
Have you thought about giving the Shaaks stereotypical cow sounds?
When you tackle the clone war battle on Geonosis, I hope you can use that ILM gag shot of the gigantic Shaak crashing to the ground.
I love what you've done with Jango.
Watched Jedi tonight. Richard Marquand remains the elusive director of mystery.
Aren't there any vintage sit down interviews with him at all in the Lucasfilm vault? Kershner did plenty of them.
Some of the people on the archival commentary had nice things to say about him though.
Probably going to have nightmares after seeing Wicket's new scary eyes in HD now. ;)
Took a second for the subtitles to sink in. Very funny!

I'm just upset that Lucas cannot do something so simple as restore the OOT. If you don't like my jackass, debbie downer comments, then fuck off. At least I'm consistent in my thoughts, which most politicians aren't.
Let me say that in the 15 years I have been a SW fan, I have never loved GL. To me, he is the man who has destroyed everything sacred about the star wars trilogy. I even tried to like the prequels, rationalizing that this would be how everyone in SW got to where they were, or the second half of a great mythology. But we all know that is what has not happened, it only destroyed his reputation as an "auteur filmmaker." I am firmly convinced that he was never a good filmmaker, and absolutely nothing associated with what's good about SW is even connected to him. And his dedication in making the OOT lost films and replacing it with some counterfeit six-film saga that's really less than six months old, that is why I feel that Lucas has nothing but contempt for his fans, and that was what he had always felt since he shot the first film back in 1976.
Watch your language, go outside, and get some fresh air, okay?

If so, you're in deep Bantha poodoo. Now they've got your name and year of birth! They're after you!!!
True! The scary thing about that whole Drew McWeeny "banned from the Ranch" thing is that we now know George Lucas really does keep an enemy's list, just like Nixon.
I'm surprised Lucas has never popped up on Futurama, floating in one of those head jars, still tweaking the movies. ;)
The 8210 is fine, but on certain scenes in some movies the chroma or luma can be over saturated and cause video artifacts, where the other players don't. The all red moonbase hangar shot in 2001 is a notorious offender.
I have a handful of LD's where the movie soundtrack is only on the digital tracks, and the analog is taken up with either commentary, isolated score, or Dolby Digital.

There's only one true Trickster...
I'm afraid to ask...
yet, I find that image so compelling..as ashamed I am to say it.
Don't be afraid. It's just Mark Hamill as the greatest villain the Flash tv series ever had. It probably lead to him doing the Joker.
Mark even got to voice the Trickster in the Justice League animated series.
These particular models just have too many moving parts. It's like a Rube Goldberg invention on the inside!
I wish my industrial player was as good in the video department, as it's built like a tank. I've been seeing some other models made for educational use pop up for sale factory sealed lately, but no idea if they're any better or worse.
There's only one true Trickster...
I am unaware of any changes made to Return of the Jedi between 1983 and 1986, when it first hit home video.
As most of those other films are available in both versions in equal quality, it's a moot point.
If quality doesn't matter, we would all still be watching VHS tapes. ;)
I care, therefore I am.
And keep reading. Star Wars covers a broad spectrum of things these days.
All three OT films have the 1997 credit rolls. That THX 1-800 number at the end to rat out poor theatrical presentations is probably a sex chat line now. ;)
Finally got a used copy of Empire. More unnatural looking grain abounds. The opening crawl is swimming in compression artifacts it seems. Or am I misinterpreting what I'm seeing? I can't see this looking very good on a wall sized screen.
The much vaunted Wampa arm fix loses a tiny bit of image in the corner when it occurs. Faneditors trump anonymous ILM staffers again. ;)
It's sad that Clive Revill's credit is still there when he was replaced several years ago. You'd think the credit scroll would be the easiest thing for them to update if they're going to do keep doing this.
Unintentionally funny to hear one of the ILM guys on the archival commentary get Boba and Jango confused.
Jedi came in the mail today, and was floating around loose in the package. Not a scratch to be seen on the disc. These things are a little tougher than DVD's after all.
I didn't realize that "10 minutes in photoshop" poster, with Maul front and center was the main official poster until I saw one in a bus stop display today.
