What has Lando got to be forgiven for again?

He borrowed Han's clothes and probably didn't wash them. ;)

As Leia is wearing her old outfit at the end of Empire, I sure hope it's been washed since that little side trip to the trash compactor! ;)

THX 1138 "preservations" + the 'THX 1138 Italian Cut' project (Released)

My recorder is a JVC DR-M10. I bought it based on reviews over at videohelp. It has it's idiosyncrasies, but a lot of features the competition didn't have at the time. The only video it's ever choked on was a very poor quality bootleg of an old blooper reel.

It's a shame the DVD recorder market is all but dead in the states. (And Hollywood is supposedly giving the evil eye at consumer level Blu Ray recorders.) Walmart is only carrying one Magnavox VHS combo deck these days.

How much input did Gene actually have on TFF? In spite of the "executive consultant" credit he was getting at that point, it doesn't seem like he had much influence on the films post TMP. Not to mention TNG probably had more of his attention in 1989.

Everything I ever read about TFF indicated it was Paramount that was skittish about Kirk and company encountering god and Satan, and watered down the script. Never mind Kirk already met the devil on Saturday morning tv in 1973. ;)

Superbeings who were once viewed as gods (or devils) in ancient times was a recurring theme in TOS, the animated series, and some early TMP script treatments.

Few fans ever seem to notice TFF has similarities to the animated series episode Beyond the Farthest Star. Both have powerful malevolent entities imprisoned on dead planets, who wish to use the Enterprise as a "body" to escape their prisons.

I was under the impression Sean Connery Sha Ka Ree was simply weakened by the Phaser barrage, losing it's cohesive form, not actually destroyed or killed.

We can continue this over in the Star Trek thread if you'd like?

Some 35mm slides with behind the scenes shots I don't think I've seen before elsewhere. (Check the seller's other listings for more.) Pity they want a hundred bucks a slide!

If you refer to the small device implanted when Anakin was a slave, it was probably deactivated and removed before he became a padawan. And where was it stated it was in his head?

If they knew where it was, it could have been removed long before TPM, and Anakin could have led a revolt, which resulted in Watto being pushed into a pizza oven. ;)

They were pretty tolerant of Gargoyles fandom in the past. It would be a P.R. black eye if they suddenly got draconian on this one. (It would be like if they went after every person wearing a homemade Marvel Superhero costume at a con.) They want our money after all.

Since there has been a trickle of H.S. merchandise over the years, finally releasing the damn thing (with a retrospective in which everyone involved has a good laugh) would be the next step. I fear some music licensing issues might come into play though.

Info: James Bond - Laserdisc Preservations: 1962-1971

Another TLD print, this time in 35mm!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/35mm-Print-THE-LIVING-DAYLIGHTS-007-JAMES-BOND-TIMOTHY-DALTON-/171027191478?pt=US_Film&hash=item27d203d6b6

Between this and the TPM print from the same seller, the studios come off as a bit lax in keeping track of these things. ;)

Itching to watch my new LTK Laserdisc, but the place is a mess.

Good question. If there were some animated films in the works, which division would make them? Disney and Pixar probably have their own projects mapped out for the next decade or so.

With all the stuff Disney has shut down, they seem to not have decided the final fate of the Lucasfilm Animation studio in Singapore yet.
