ROTJ is the best Star Wars film... discuss!
Time

I honestly believe the Ewoks had the potential to be nasty little buggers in a fight. In the novelization, Leia's first impression of Wicket is tempered by the fact he's got a knife. Although the description is probably of Kenny Baker's costume, as he was going to do the scene before falling ill.

I thought this guy was kind of scary close up...

It kind of seems like the more scary looking Ewoks got nudged into the background as the film progresses. (George can be seen micro managing the Ewoks a bit in The Making of a Saga doc.) I was pretty surprised a lot of the action figures have knives when we didn't see them being used in the movie.

There's the possibility things were toned down in the final editing. There's still a shot of an Ewok brandishing a stormtrooper gun that made the final cut, and I think some of the unused Jedi footage in Battle for Endor has some of them shooting. Without knowing what was left on the cutting room floor, I can only speculate.

All Things Star Trek

The game that got closest to the spirit of TOS was probably The 25th Anniversary game and it's sequel released by Interplay. Having the original cast provide the voices was the icing on the cake.

Possibly the biggest bummer in Trek history is that The Secret of Vulcan Fury game was never released. Fans have hoped that somehow the original cast voice tracks have been saved, (including DeForest Kelley's last performance as Dr. McCoy) and could be the basis for an animated "lost episode".

I hope that's a joke.

Anyway, Elite Force remains one the best action oriented Trek games I've ever played. The expansion pack adds the ability to simply wander the decks of the U.S.S. Voyager and have some holodeck fun as well.

Some talented fans created amazing mods for the game. My favorite one let you explore a TOS era starbase, and the ships being serviced there. The levels were so large, you could spend a couple weeks exploring it all.

Star Wars: Episode VII to be directed by J.J. Abrams **NON SPOILER THREAD**
Time

Star Trek is only slightly less complicated than a Star Wars film, and as a sequel has the advantage of sets, props, and costumes already existing from the 2009 outing. This film is pretty much going to be starting from scratch. There's not much from the prequels that can be used.

Studio space either in Hollywood or where the prequels were shot is going to have to be booked pretty soon, if it hasn't been already.
