Episode IX: The Rise Of Skywalker - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD *
Time

I’d be surprised if he just turns up in the Resistance without any explanation as to where he’s been before now. My guess is he’s been on the far side of the galaxy, which would explain his absence before now, and possibly unaware of recent events. A gambling world like Canto Bight seems almost cut off from events going on in the galaxy at large. The owners might even willfully avoid bad news getting to the customers.

Lando’s too good a gambler to be totally down on his luck. He could also have settled down and had a family.
There was at least the idea of Lando having a female companion in one of Ralph McQuarrie’s paintings for ESB.

Yeah, no doubt we can help keep things going. 70/year is really not that much.

Maybe something like Wikipedia, just ask for a fixed small amount like $5. 15 people = 1 year.

Either way, I know it will work out fine.

$70 per month.

aaaaaand thats a bit different, should have read better : /

Welcome to my world. 😉

Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas (Complete) - (Released)
Time

I wonder if a Dr. Who Restoration Team-style effort grabbing frames from other sources could work? Anyway, I totally misread the blu-ray.com thread. There apparently is no 2018 DVD, just the 16:9 abomination from 2017. 😕

Putting out some feelers to see who might have a working CED player, since the RCA videodisc release isn’t hard to find, and super cheap compared to the 700K auction for an early 80’s VHS.

It’s odd all the other Muppet one-off specials got an LD release, except for Emmet.

I never noticed they weren’t the same guy when I was younger. They were both dubbed by the same fellow anyway.

Wedge did doff his helmet at the end of ROTJ though.

One of few the SE changes I did like was they added a bit more footage, where Wedge and Luke had a nice little moment. As one of the unsung heroes of the OT, he deserved it.

I still hope Wedge turns up in Episode IX somehow!

Jeez what a mess. Imagine being the EU writer trying to cover over all the cracks.

The EU consisted of about six novels, a few storybooks, and the Marvel comic at the time. 😉

This inexplicable need to give everyone who ever walked past a camera in a Star Wars film a backstory is the real issue.

Important question…

In ROTJ does Grey Leader die then re-appear during the finale?

But are we talking OT or SE version?

Now now…

Okay so I’m pretty hung over and we watched ROTJ and 2am in a haze of booze. This is my life. But! What I mean is that he dies when like when a bunch of them are killed, and then after some more throne room antics they cut back to the pilots heading for the superstructure - I’m sure he’s alive again for a second. Then Wedge says “good shot Red 2” but it’s a Y-Wing?

Without having the movie in front of me, I’d speculate that the editors used a different shot of the same pilot and thought nobody would notice. Just like they thought nobody would notice all the stock Tie Pilot cockpit shots from Episode IV, or previously unused footage of Imperials running through Death Star corridors.

Possible, as they may have shot the ending before deciding which pilots to blow up. Or it’s another actor wearing the uniform and they didn’t alter the details?
But are we talking OT or SE version? The SE added a lot of shots to the Endor celebration. Some of those are obviously alternate angles or takes, but the shots of rebels and Ewoks celebrating on the ground might be 1997 footage.
