Interesting how prominent Tie Bombers are in that poster, since they are barely in the movie.

In attempting to sort out and thin down my LD collection, I amazingly found the Columbia/TriStar disc! And it’s not rotted. So, I will capture the PCM for the Anthrax bit soon as I finish up a couple other things.
You’d think by now there would be some sort of gizmo or app we could use to translate the Japanese dub.
LOL!
I’ll be at the Galaxy’s Edge theme park soaking in all the Star Wars I can, seeing Episode IX multiple times in Dolby, and enjoying my Disney+ subscription. Life is short, I am going to enjoy what I enjoy.
Feel free to do that. But try to at least retain some class consciousness and remember what Disney is.
Marxism on a Star Wars board. Seriously?
Play nice, kids.
It Disney didn’t get them, Comcast would have. This kind of thing has been going on longer than most of us have been alive.
For those of you who don’t know, RCA owned NBC.
I think the possibility of no more Alvin & The Chipmunks sequels is a silver lining. 😛
I will ask elsewhere and see who’s willing.
I’d burn all prints of the OOT if it brought down Disney, Hollywood entire, and the false god Mammon.
Are you sure you’re on our side?
It all depends on how badly they wanted Star Wars? Disney tried to buy the Muppets when Jim Henson was still around, but they wanted the Sesame Street characters too. Jim said no, and that was that. They eventually got Kermit and the gang after Henson’s passing, but never got Big Bird and Elmo.
That footage ought to scanned and preserved if possible. There must be enough Bond fans around here (and elsewhere) who could chip in and buy it?
I recall seeing this on TV decades ago and it ending in OHMSS. Could be wrong though.
Could it have been HBO in 1980?
I don’t think I’ll live to see the end of Star Wars, so I’ll take all I can get before I die.
It depends on how old you are. I think I will. This Disney thing will not last long.
Won’t last long? How long do you think? Give me your prediction or best guess.
Remakes are not happening.
Never say never!
To clarify, remakes aren’t happening while George is around. There’s been enough speculation about a no OOT release clause in the Disney deal. There could just as easily be a no remakes clause?
I saw a post on imdb that really cracked me up. The poster (whose handle is ‘bobsutherby’) points out that by draining the sun, the SK Base consequently kills every planet in that system anyway. So all the base needs to do is drain stars!
Which begs the question (this is me now) - how does the FO choose which system it will destroy in order to power up to destroy another? Does it wait until at least 2 systems are in transgression, or does it have to choose stars with uninhabited or no planets?
I thought the IMDB forums were deleted after they closed them?
Short version. Another print turned up, so things are on hold until it can be scanned. It’s in english and in better condition. Can’t say more than that.
I’m not a fan of these stand alone films. They don’t seem to be working, and I think they’re ruining Star Wars by taking away the mystique and fan fare of the episodes.
If they want to make a good Obi-Wan movie, then they should remake the prequels.
We’ve only had two so far, one that did better than expected, and one that was seemingly cursed from the beginning with behind the scenes turmoil, and being released into an overcrowded summer market far too soon after TLJ.
Remakes are not happening.
That scene made it onto the remastered Laserdisc. 😉

I think it would be fair to predict that no matter what is in the Episode IX trailer, it is just going to be spammed with dislikes. Everyone just jump aboard the hate train I guess. 😦
The hate train only has one destination. 😉
The animation is probably on par with Rebels, it’s the faux cel shading that makes it look cheap. Why they went with this look is beyond me. Makes me miss the Supermarionation styling George wanted with TCW. I eventually got used to that.
That makes some sense. They would be able to utilize a lot of craftspeople there who have worked on the films, and might make it easier for Ewan to commit to a lengthy shoot. I presume he doesn’t live in the states?
It’s a darn good thing George doesn’t have access to a time machine. 😉
Yeah, I’ve done my share of tinkering over the years. Had to unjam one of my Laserdisc players more than once. There isn’t much left in consumer electronics one can tinker with the insides today. I’m amazed I was able to fix the now ten year old HDTV in my living room. I came very close to junking it, but a little online research really paid off. It just needed some bad capacitors replaced on the power board. I had some help with the de-soldering and soldering, but I did the rest. It’s as good as new.
I doubt the super slim flat panels made now even have that many circuit boards within.
Great read. And glad they were willing to help. I feel bad you had all that hassle with a betamax when I have a working deck.
On a related note, has anyone ever researched HBO’s Bond marathon in 1980? They ran every film up to at least TSWLM. Not sure if it was one month or spaced out over two or three. It definitely took up a big chunk of their schedule. It was the first time I had seen any of them uncut, and it was quite a revelation having grown up with the edited ABC tv versions throughout the '70’s.
JEDIT:Seems it was mostly the Connery films. So much for my memory!
I would hope Ady calls out this helmet scammer guy by name. People like that reflect badly on the propmaking and costuming communities and need to be shunned.
And boy, does Paypal ever suck.
