I know Disney has been leaving U.S. 3-D lovers out in the cold lately, but Lucasfilm could buck the trend the way Marvel has. And the 3-D versions are already paid for, might as well include them.
Presuming many of the old DVD extras were SD, they won’t take up much disc space.
The list of things George could have fixed given his mandate for the SE’s but didn’t could make it’s own thread. For example, he replaces the wolf guy in the Cantina, but does nothing about the shot of the little bat head guy where you can clearly see through the eye holes of the hollow mask as his head turns slightly. That would have been a relatively easy CGI fix.
It’s possible those shots simply don’t bother him for whatever reason…
Mark is quite a guy. He stood up for fans when Harlan Ellison said some unkind things back in the 80’s.
The 1997 and 2011 versions could inhabit one disc via seamless branching. Give the originals their own discs with plenty of room, and the third disc is every bit of deleted/alternate footage and maybe some vintage docs, hopefully restored?

I did voice over stuff back in college, for my own projects and for others. I recorded dialog with my head stuck in a large cardboard tube to simulate wearing a space helmet once. I’ve found automobile interiors also work well for recording booths.

Me and a couple of friends watched the TPM teaser trailer, which i recorded from the German TV channel Pro7. And i recall one of my friends saw the “Darth-Maul-ignites-his-double-bladed-light-saber” and he asked immediately:
“Is that supposed to be the guy from Shadows of the Empire, Prince Xizor?”

The DS explosion is clearly in the upper half, so the dish could have been blown off by the concussion wave and the flash makes it impossible to see.
The specks were a lot bigger in ROTJ, probably big enough to leave a large crater or ruin your day if it lands nearby, and it was a lot closer to Endor than DS1 was to Yavin 4…
They cut away after this frame, so there’s wiggle room for falling debris.
The wreckage could also have gone into a wide orbit of the Endor system and fallen on another nearby planet months or years later.
