Help Wanted: Cliffhanger (1993) on TBS WED July 15th, censored for TV version?
Time

The point I'm trying to make is recording a tv broadcast requires little effort compared to other projects around here. People request things like this around here all the time. If a project is not your cup of tea, then posting in such a thread is going to be construed as shenanigans.

And since I don't have ESP, I can't anticipate your edits.

Massive amounts of time (and money) were invested in preserving the tv version of Superman. I know because I contributed to that project.

Asking if someone if they could record a broadcast of an alternate version is not unreasonable. It's no different than asking if someone has a rare Laserdisc or VHS. People who've been around this site for more than a few months understand this.

THX 1138 "preservations" + the 'THX 1138 Italian Cut' project (Released)
Time

There is a clip of Things to Come in the documentary SPFX:The Empire Strikes Back, helping to show the history of visual effects before Star Wars.

This same factoid about Things to Come being used originally turns up on the IMDB, so it's may be a case of someone at TCM copying the same info of dubious origin.

Buck Rogers makes more sense, as it's set in the same century THX is set in. And we know George grew up on those serials.

And my full frame print has it too.

I got dragged to see that when it came out. Were there any prison movie cliches that they didn't use? ;)

And I don't buy that the animal rights crowd wouldn't find out about such a primate facility and burn a place like that to the ground. Nor that a pilot who has a severe hand injury is going to be allowed to fly a jumbo jet.

I grew up on the original POTA films, (it loomed large in my childhood before Star Wars) so I'm probably more than a little biased though.

Info Wanted: Giorgio Moroder presents "Metropolis" - is it any good? (lots of info)

As I've said before, it would be neat to see the recovered footage used where Moroder had to use still photos.

You'd have to come up with a bunch of new songs, though. That's a -lot- of extra footage we're talking about.

My initial thought was to cut the footage to fit Moroder's pacing. Extending the existing songs shouldn't be that hard to do, and there's other Moroder and Queen songs that might work for scenes that didn't exist in still form back in '84.

Han - Solo Movie ** Spoilers **
Time

Disney has released edgier fare for decades under other studio labels, Touchstone, Hollywood Pictures, etc. (Who Framed Roger Rabbit? has always been a Touchstone film, even though Roger has a presence in the theme parks.)  They don't have to put the Disney label on the Star Wars films any more than they do Marvel.

Let Han be the smuggler he always was, and Boba can be a Riddick kind of guy who has a personal honor code.
