Odd that Walmart would offer Betacam transfers, as it’s not a consumer format. Are you sure it’s not Betamax they’re talking about?

And did you ever get a quote from any pro transfer house?

For clarity, this is analog betacam and not digibeta?

It might be possible to get a used analog betacam deck for a few hundred bucks on Ebay. Tv stations probably dumped a lot of working gear as they upgraded to digital formats as Digibeta decks are backwards compatible with the older tapes.

If it’s the smaller betacam tapes that were used for news gathering, a portable deck might do the trick…

The biggest problem is to have the forum actually online, which was often not the case with the old hosting service, the second biggest problem is to restore the functionalities like subscriptions, bookmarks and drafts, the third biggest problem is how things look like. What use is the most beautiful forum if it’s unavailable every now and then?

The old petition has been a dead issue for a long time, as Disney is the new overlord of Star Wars. What they intend to do regarding the OOT remains to be seen. And Fox still retains distribution rights to the original film.

As the new forums are tweaked, a new front page will eventually take the place of the old one.

So he will have co-written TFA and the Han Solo movie and bow out. I hope Rian Johnson is really as good as they say to write the middle film. For that matter, Colin Trevorrow with the final film in the ST.

It’s a defense mechanism. She saw her entire home planet blown up. She’s been drugged and interrogated by the scariest of the Emperor’s henchmen. Then, a couple of guys in stormtrooper outfits show up out of nowhere claiming to be with Obi Wan, with a half assed rescue plan she has to take charge of.

I’d be a little cranky too.

4K may never be more than a niche within a niche, like MUSE Lasderdiscs or D-VHS. Blu Ray isn’t going anywhere, but future releases will benefit from new 4K masters.
