I knew the peace and quiet in here was too good to last!

I knew the peace and quiet in here was too good to last!

It’s also possible we see how Han becomes the cynical person we meet at the Cantina, who only trusts a Wookiee. Rogue One didn’t exactly have a happy ending, so I think the other spinoffs have some leeway now. 😉
(One reason Jabba gives him more time to pay him back in a deleted scene from the original film.)

It’s been in the Marvel comic and novel since day one. 😉
With George out of the picture, Lucasfilm really needs to mend fences with Dave Prowse while he’s still around. Forget the past, and start fresh. At least allow him to attend Celebration again. It’s a disservice to the fans that he isn’t there.
Kurtz was fired because of Lucas’s ego, and the budget issues on ESB were just an excuse. Lucas could not stand someone else making a better SW movie than him, one that put story first and merchandising second. If Kurtz worked on Jedi it would have blown Empire out of the water.
Jim Henson was probably more than happy to hire Kurtz for The Dark Crystal. 😃
Getting enough tall people to play Wookiees really could not have been that big of a hurdle. I’m sure some basketball players could have filled the bill. And Peter Mayhew could have taught them all how to act like a proper Wookiee. 😃
In any case, casting a large number of little people wasn’t all that simple either. There was a maximum height for an Ewok. In the Classic Creatures doc it’s mentioned some were told for the first time in their lives they were too tall for the part!
In the Star Wars To Jedi doc, Lucas explains that when he wanted to revisit his idea of primitives defeating a technologically superior foe, Chewbacca had already been well established as a sophisticated creature, which led him to “short Wookiees”.
He also said in the end, “Dare to be cute.” 😉
Today is the end of the Republic! The end of a regime that acquiesces to disorder! At this very moment in a system far from here, the New Republic lies to the galaxy while secretly supporting the treachery of the loathsome Resistance! This fierce machine which you have built, upon which we stand will bring an end to the Senate, to their cherished fleet! ALL REMAINING SYSTEMS WILL BOW TO THE FIRST ORDER!!! AND WILL REMEMBER THIS AS THE LAST DAY OF THE REPUBLIC!!!
Nothing like being pedantic, on-the-nose, and pretentious with your dialogue. Even George Lucas could write better lines than these.
Propaganda speeches usually are. 😉
Ok! I’ve already forgotten where I read this, but the same creature shop that worked on TFA and Rogue One is allegedly working on a practical Jabba puppet ala ROTJ.
Han and Jabba seem to have a long history. (One reason Jabba gives him more time to pay him back in the original film.) So, having the Hutt appear isn’t out of the question. I don’t want to repeat a related rumor I’ve heard, as we don’t have a spoiler thread for this yet.
Sneak in Frink’s versions of the first two. 😉
As we live in a era of cheap, practically disposable cell phones, I think Mr. Spicer has his work cut out for him. And there have been leaks long before cell phones even existed.
Having just viewed the original terminator it made me think how just like Star Wars it was far ahead of its time. I also was waiting for A Digital Mans extended cut additions of the extra scenes which made a more rounded take of a true classic.
Next up is George Lucas directors cut of THX 1138 for me.
I hope you know what you’re getting into. Even the Special Editions don’t go that far! 😉
And Judge Wapner of People’s Court fame. I wasn’t aware he was still around.
Didn’t Peter Mayhew hold the title of tallest man in the UK for a time?
And now to bake your noodles. This was tried out on a few LD releases in the early 90’s, but never caught on in the states. I’d probably have more space issues with my LD collection now if it had! It’s as thick as a regular two disc sleeve.

It was apparently used for all MUSE Hi Def LD titles in Japan though.
As in compressed DIVX on DVD? I’ve spent almost 18 months replacing my custom Armary covers with retail SE’s as the other my other half deals in law, and made a comment bout my collection a while back.
Nope.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DIVX
The DivX codec was named after it, mostly as a joke.
What some people do is put them into three ring storage binders. There are various designs out there.

It’s bullshit that DVDs & BDs aren’t distributed in CD-style jewel cases. I have finite space for the discs, most of which has already been taken up by the overlong/oversized cases they come in. What, did the people-that-be think buyers would confuse them with CDs if they were packaged that way? Then just clearly label them as DVDs/BDs, you turd-squeezing monkeys!
Some early DVD releases did come in jewel cases. (As did the infamous now long dead DIVX DVD format.) I have a few. It seems more common to Japan though.
Having seen the Dunkirk preview in front on the 70mm IMAX presentation of Rogue One, that would be awesome!
A Han Solo/Boba Fett movie would also cover a lot of bases.
Let’s play nice, kids.
People get so crazy for those steelbooks, it’s like a license to print money. (I confess I was tempted by the one for Guardians Of The Galaxy.) Meanwhile, regular editions of movies often come in those damned flimsy eco cases.
Reputable my eye!
And we do not need another thread on this.
Yesterday I was standing in a long line of people and noticed a girl was reading the novelization of A Dogs Purpose. I think the ad’s for that are unintentionally hilarious and can’t believe the movie was even made. That there’s also a novelization and somebody is choosing to read it leaves me boggled.
JEDIT: Looks like the movie was based on the book. All I said still stands though.
Nobody in Hollywood ever lost their shirt on a cute dog movie. 😉
I’m surprised the original 1974 Benji hasn’t been remade yet.
My local Target has a bargain aisle with older Blu Ray titles ten bucks and under these days. Easier to find things than those bottomless dump bins Walmart uses.
I guess we’re in Omen III territory now?
