A couple more things. This movie really had the old school Marvel comic vibe going. That early post movie run when it was just Han and Chewie trying to make some money and getting in no end of trouble. Heck, this could have been one of the 50 page annuals.
I really liked the monkey pilot guy. I’m surprised they had the balls to kill him off as I’m sure somebody at Disney probably wanted him to survive.
Fantastic movie. Tonally perfect. Everyone delivered a great performance. Legacy characters felt right, new characters fit right in. References didn’t make me roll my eyes. Humor was great. Loved every minute. Left the theater feeling like a kid.
Perfect? No. Insanely fun? Very yes. Really needed this after TLJ.

I hate seeing those YouTube videos in my recommended with thumbnails saying “SJW DROID!?!”. Like, Jesus Christ a female major character Droid in a Star Wars movie? That’s social justice-- Star Wars is for boys only!
It’s annoying because of the obvious social agenda. Either you get that or you don’t. It’s bs because if there are female droids we would have seen them in the OT. What are they going to do now, do an SE that replaces 3PO with a CG lady droid? It’s pc bs and it’s ruining my childhood.

Anyway, I absolutely loved it. And the unexpected cameo did not bug me like I thought it might. I’m sure this thread will manage to harsh my buzz in the morning. 😛
Ron Howard probably deserves a medal for taking the reins on this. I suppose we’ll never see the footage shot by those other two guys.

All the monitors were very analogy/ cathode Ray too. The ones in the spaceport, the mining colony, etc. Seemed like an strange design choice to me.
Go back and look at the monitors in the OT again.
How about this: More violence, more nudity, more sex, more taking the goddamned Lord’s goddamned name in vain!
EDIT: In all seriousness, I don’t want more violence and nudity, but in scenes where violence happens I want it to be depicted in a realistic and graphic way. (No more bloodless bullet wounds.) And also when a character is supposed to be naked, no more shooting in ways that hide the nudity to the point that it’s a million times more distracting than if he were on full display.
Show his belly? Is this international diplomacy strip tease? I don’t want to see either one of them undressed! 😛

I don’t if most would consider it bad (as opposed to just not good), but I love Revenge of the Sith.
I’m also of the opinion that the Harry Potter films got worse as they went on, with the Columbus films being fantastic while the Yates films are barely watchable.
I enjoy all three Jurassic Park films, but hated Jurassic World.
I genuinely don’t see anything wrong with Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Seriously, what is it about this film that people don’t like?
And since someone mentioned a TV episode, I was watching the Doctor Who story The Celestial Toymaker recently, and thought it was much better than people give it credit for. It may not be the masterpiece people expected when it was missing, but it’s still pretty good.
There’s only one episode of TCT in existence so it’s hard to judge that story as a whole.
I was a bit bored by The Enemy of The World until they found all the missing episodes. Now it’s one of my favorites of the era.
