easy now lets all relax and simmer, i recall alot of people calling him and idiot for making his arguements long before he start throwing mud back. lets all just be friends, just he disagrees with you doesnt mean he should be removed from the forum. nor does it let everyone call him an idiot. IASH, i toold your side on this but it doesnt mean you should go and insult other people either so just relax.

I've stated many times that I enjoy the SE, and that I have never hated, nor ever will hate, Lucas.

Most of us want the OT because we love the OT, not because we hate the SE. This battle is born of positives, not negatives.

as for you saying you saw something in empire of dreams, is it not possible that they just redid that one shot for the documentary. i am sure that they didnt have to redo a whole movie or one bloody shot.

as for how many will sell, ok well this forum is world wide. we got like what 70 000 signatures. i rounded it to 50 000 and assumed that for every one person to sign the petition there were 5 others out there that wanted it and didnt sign. thats pretty resonable right.

as for the cost how much do you think it would be to digitally re-render and re-edit, and clean up 3 two and a half hour movies. thats millions of frames, with thousands of flaws on them to clean and sharpen.

its not narrow minded its practical. what is narrowminded is the fact you dont accept that as a reasonable excuse, cause it is. you may not like it but the bottem line is that it is a reasonable excuse they dont want to spend the time and money to remake the prints for the few fans that want them, its a question of whether its worth there time. spend millions to re do work they already have and sell maybe 250 000 of them. lets do some math, ok say you sell that many, and at 40 bucks a pop, thats 10 mill for each movie, 30 mill total for gross. now how much is the resoration going to cost them, i would say at the very least 5 - 10 million for each film cause there is alot of work to go from the original film to even the 93s. ok to be fair we will say 7.5 mill each, ok so thats 22.5 mill to make the things. now stores need to make money lets say and this si very generous that stores make 10 bucks on each dvd. ok so there we have what 250 000 times 10 times 3. thats 7.5 mil, add that to the 22.5 mill already to make the things, thats 30 mill right there. now what about the costs of advertising, and shipping and packaging and all of that. the bottem line is that they dont want to do it. and they have a legitmate reason. you may not like it, or think its fair, but look at it from there pov. i know they have made billions off you so what if they have a loss of a few mill on some dvd. well they care.

i donno if its quite that dramatic, i.e. the monostaries keeping record and thus without them we wouldnt have the written word. you forget about the role of ireland in the dark ages, and europe isnt the only place in the work that was civilized, in fact after the fall of rome all of europe was like a backwater area to the world, europe was like the 3rd world, now one went there and no one cared. the centers of the world were china, india and the middle east.

its funny i took a course on world history and how the world has changed from 1400- 1945. and something that i realised, a connection i wouldnt have made without that course though i knew the facts. europe can owe its rise to power to the black plague. WHAT, NAW, not the black plague. yes the black plague. what people dont know is that the plague came from the east, its thought that it first surfaced around the black sea, and at the time europe wasnt a big tradeing area so it didnt go there till later. china was, and so the plague first struck in there. at the time china was like the US of the world only a 1000 times more powerful then the next most powerful. think of a world of canada's with one US that was what it was like at that time. india might have been like england, but thats about it. the chinese owned the indian ocean where all the trading took place, and they had a massive navy, like massive in the sense that it was bigger then the rest of the world's navy. now also at the time china was ruled by the mongal empire which loved trade, and thrived on it. with the arrival of the plague thousands died and there was a huge rebellion in china. they eventually overthrough the mongal rules and took over. the people of china blamed trade for the black plague and so they shut themselves off from the world, they dry docked the navy and within 5 years it had rooted away. the global power that was china was gone. now just as this happened who should happen to figure out how to sail around africa, oh the portugese. they fell into the power niche that china had left and became super rich, spain followed and so did france and england and all of europe, eventually we had colonialism. the rise of the west.
