Does anyone know of any edits of this movie or is anyone interested in making one?
Fox severely cut down Ridley Scott's original version. His Director's Cut will be released on DVD in May.

How about Hal Ashby's Being There? It's a wonderful film but some of it just seems like it's from another movie.

- Cut the subplot about the President not being able to get it up in bed (why is this in the movie?)
- Cut Shirly McLaine masterbating (why is this in the movie?)
- Replace the end credits which scroll over an outtake of Peter Sellers repeatedly flubbing a scene. It's nice to watch as a blooper, but it pulls you out of the magic of the movie and is largely blamed for Sellers' not winning the Best Actor Oscar that year.

Also f1209, you can watch the fan edit over at this link:

http://sequentialarts.typepad.com/sequential_arts/sequential_arts_presents/

Scroll to the bottom, and you have the links to Quicktime files. They play in a rather small window in your browser, but if you go into the source code, you can find the direct links to the files and download them. Once downloaded, they appear a little bigger.

I dunno, im pretty sure that the playground scene wrapped up differently when I saw it on TV. And im pretty sure they even showed a clip of the original at one point. I mean, the whole introduction of her (well her giving her name) was different, and then it went into an extended (at least i think it was extended) scene with the King Pin. In the theatrical was there any talk of her having to go cause her body guard was here, and she thought she had lost them at the coffee shop?
I'll check my theatrical cut DVD right now....

...and you are correct. The theatrical scene simply cuts to the Kingpin after she says "My name's Elektra Natchios. Hmm." The DC has the additions that you mentioned and ends with Matt looking at his watch and noticing that he's late.

As far as the DVDs go, the DC only has a commentary and a featurette. Everything else, including the stuff you saw on FX is only avaliable on the theatrical cut.
