<strong>The Mandalorian</strong> - a general discussion thread - * <em><strong>SPOILERS</strong></em> *
Time

I don’t think it will be answered anytime soon, but my main question at this point is who got Grogu out of the Jedi temple before order 66? I wonder if it’s someone we know, or someone new?

I only have two other questions I’d really like answered in a of Star Wars. What became of Barriss Offee and how did Maz get the saber Luke lost over Bespin?

Luke shows up. Din Djarin holds Grogu out. Luke takes Grogu and tosses him over his shoulder as he walks off.

Just kidding. I love TLJ.

I do wonder what this Jedi temple will look like. Will the spot be similar to what we saw Luke sitting on in TLJ? Did Ahsoka use it to contact Ezra? Who is in the Ghost at the end of TRos?

Isn’t there something in Legends about Ki Adi Mundi having tons of kids since his species was dying off?

Yes, his species had a very low male birthrate so he was given a rare exception by the Jedi Council. He also had five wives apparently.

That would make a great Disney+ series.

I’d completely forgotten that Rodriguez was confirmed to direct an episode so now I’m really curious too. Chapter 14 & 16 are both written by Favreau, so it could be either of them. Just a guess really, but Waititi was the “biggest” director in season 1 so maybe they’ve similarly saved the season 2 finale for Rodriguez?

I was hoping Michael Biehn would be in the Robert Rodfiguez episode and they’d have something more significant for him in mind, but still looking forward to seeing what RR does. I like having different directors to bring a little variety to the series. Still wondering if they will eventually surprise us with a George Lucas episode. I wouldn’t mind a Rian Johnson episode either. I wonder if they’d be interested in some really big names taking a turn.

I love the variant on the main theme that is playing near the end while Grogu is sleeping. Goransson consistently knocking it out of the par at every turn, even briefly referencing John Williams at appropriate times. I really with these soundtracks were available on disc.

I sure wouldn’t mind if they stopped in to Maz’s castle at some point, but I doubt they will.

<s>Why I Love Prequel Yoda</s> (<em>Outdated</em>)
Time

The Jedi council at times is arrogant and condescending. They let their dogma get in their own way at times. This is what allowed Palpatine to manipulate them so effectively.

It’s hard to question the authority of people you highly respect, and who could command more respect than a 900 year old Jedi master? Yet, no one is perfect. It’s hard sometimes to know when to trust your own instincts or conform. Qui-Gon does a good job of questioning while still respecting and working within. Ahsoka arguably does more for the galaxy after leaving the Jedi.

There is no one right answer for everything and no infallible sources. Often best to evaluate decisions individually instead of applying strict dogma. Nothing wrong with rules or standards, but exceptions are not a weakness. They are sometimes a hidden strength.

I was hoping Hedland’s series would be Doctor Aphra, but now I want more live-action Ahsoka. So much better than I expected.

They built up her appearance over a few episodes, then just went all out in this one. I think Favreau and Filoni are amazing storytellers. Star Wars is in great hands.

I was even more impressed with Ahsoka fighting in live-action than I was with Vader’s hallway scene in Rogue One.

I wonder who got Grogu (spelling?) out of the Jedi temple and what happened to them? Star Wars is a never-ending source of stories to tell.

<strong>The Expanse</strong> - <em>2015-???? TV Series</em>
Time

Season five starts next month and it’s already renewed for a final sixth season. I usually preface my opinions with “favorite” instead of “best” but I’m going to come out and say The Expanse is objectively one of the best sci-fi series of all time. Complex characters, compelling plots, gorgeous cinematography, and arguably the most scientifically accurate.

The first half of the first season can be a little hard to follow for some, but it picks up after that and really takes off. There are just so many factions and different motivations throughout the series. I pick up something new every time I rewatch it. I highly recommend.
