Really? I'm American. I don't speak that way.

And no, I'm not gay, so I'm not personally offended, but I just don't like it when "gay" is used to mean "stupid".

The way some talk then. I don't know, back on topic.

Can you remove the Yoda jumping with the lightsaber somehow? It looks dumb.

That's offensive to dumb people. :p

Brilliant work, SSWR. I'd reduce Padme's dialogue even further — none of the truly deeply stuff, it was badly delivered and I think just "I love you" does fine.

I missed Mace's "This party's over", but I think (short of inserting a "motherfucker" after it :-p) cutting it was the right decision.

I have to say, my favourite part was the music — you clearly know what you're doing, the main theme seems to have become Anakin's theme, and it and the fanfare theme is woefully underused in the PT.

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

Adywan sent it as part of the initial release. I'm sure someone in the UK (I assume that's where you are) can send you a copy, but Ady isn't mailing out any more.

I don't have the bandwidth nor the technical knowhow to upload it, and what's more the disc is scratched and my backup was lost when my hard drive crashed. I'm awaiting a copy from Johnny Ringo any month now.

You could offer that sort of explanation, but it's not going to change the fact that when Obi-Wan says his bit in ANH, the viewer is going to assume it means Vader is Anakin, regardless of how many other interpretations are technically possible. We want to see this from the point of view of a new viewer, not one who handwaves things away.

The only way out of it that I can see is to make ROTS such that Vader is in it, but is not mentioned to be Anakin, and the relationship between them and Obi-Wan makes it plausible that he can shift the blame for Anakin's death onto Vader in ANH. Obi-Wan must appear to kill Anakin on Mustafar, or at least leave him to die. Vader should then show up in his suit and attack the Temple — the Old Republic MMO trailer has what I'm talking about in terms of imagery — or do something else evil that Obi can react to. Even this, though, will be difficult.

Just get the DVD9 (NTSC if you're in North America, PAL in the real world). Anything higher-resolution is not going to be Revisited, as Revisited was done in SD — it'll probably just be Ady's colour-corrected version of the SE. The DVD5s and xvid were released earlier, and some changes were made for the final, "definitive" if you like, DVD9 versions.

I appreciate the idea of keeping Vader's identity a mystery between ROTS and ESB, but the real problem with this approach lies in ANH: Obi-Wan refers to Darth Vader as "a pupil of mine, until he turned to evil." If we keep it unclear whether it's Mace or Anakin, this line gives it away. Indeed, no matter how we try to keep it a mystery, then this line will give it away, unless we're somehow able to give Obi-Wan multiple apprentices.

On a somewhat unrelated note, in the same sentence Obi-Wan calls him "a young Jedi named Darth Vader" — but it's established by the prequels that Darth is something like a Sith title. It would be quite possible to remove all references to the title in the prequels — IIRC it doesn't crop up all that often. Darth Maul is named once, and he could easily be renamed Maul or not named at all ("This is my apprentice... he will find your lost ship"). Dooku is only referred to as "Lord Tyranus", and I don't remember where Darth Sidious is named — again, Dooku and Maul tend to call him "Master" and the Neimoidians tend to call him "Lord". I don't mind "Darth" being a Sith title, but it does make Obi's line a little odd. You can explain it by saying that he's simplifying things for Luke and trying not to arouse any suspicions.
