This is an excellent piece of news. I'll put the popcorn on.
*high fives c77*
EDIT: 005 beat me to it.
I'll chalk this up to Adywan's color correction revealing things that were less visible in the 2004 version.
STOP STOP IT WHAT ARE YOU DOING EVERYTHING IS RUINED FOR EVER
*pouts*
Take that thing away, ESF. The popcorn gag is my thing.
Suddenly I don't feel so special any more.
:-p

Agreed Ripplin, in fact at this point I think it might be worthwhile formalising three blanket rules for the Revisited thread/s:
1. If someone asks a question that can be answered by reading the first post, we jump on him, maybe with one warning.
2. If someone asks a question that can only be answered by reading the entire thread, then we answer him straight, with reference to the relevant post if anyone can be bothered finding it.
3. If someone asks a question that can only be answered by reading the entire thread and someone jumps on him, we jump on the first jumper.
What does Ady have to say on this? 'Tis just an idea.
Adaptations and drafts count as "EU" in the sense that Adywan won't reference them just for the sake of it. He's not going by what Lucasfilm officially calls "EU", he just uses it as a shorthand for "everything Star Wars that isn't on-screen".
Of course, it's up to Adywan if he wants to put such a scene in, but if he does it will be because it adds something good to the film in its own right, not just because it was in a different version of the story.
Re Han saying "It isn't friendly", it makes enough sense as is; it's technology, and it isn't Alliance technology. For all they know at that point it might be harmless, but it isn't friendly, and it's not worth taking chances on.
The presence of atmospheric pressure and an ecosystem are explainable by it being the interior of a living being. We don't know anything about its biology but it's presumably evolved to have mynocks living inside it, like we have bacteria inside us. We assume that the Falcon tells Han that there's sufficient pressure that they'd only need breathing masks. The only issue then is why he isn't more suspicious of this, but in a universe like SW's this sort of thing might be not unheard of.
Either that or he has Force Cloaking abilities or something.
The most recent version of iMovie for the Mac does a similar thing, so if Nick can get the name of the software he mentioned you should be right on either platform.
Apart from killing off Lando, yes.
It'd still mean tractor beams are useless unless either used against a ship without a hyperdrive, or used in concert with an interdictor field, even if it explains the ANH situation. I'm not talking about the EU here — this is just what makes sense for the movies. Ady's not using the EU so this thread isn't the place to bring it up as a reason to do things or make changes.
If that's the case, why didn't Han escape into hyperspace when the Death Star was capturing them in ANH? If a tractor beam couldn't stop you from going into hyperspace, it'd be comparatively useless, no?
ABD, he said explicitly that he was talking about the LFL logo the first time he mentioned it. We can't help it if you didn't notice.
At least he got one right.

Sometimes this place is just like a school playground...Everybody picking on one guy, because the other person is doing so....
And me sitting on the sidelines with my bucket of popcorn, just watching and enjoying the show, and offering to share my popcorn with everyone else. Wait....
Well, you have to admit it wasn't constructing.
Or constructive, for that matter.
Agreed, but there's no need to troll him. :-p Have some popcorn instead.
Oi, Vinnie! That's my running gag!
So budge up and share. I'll go pop some more.
In fairness, Fox did finance a lot of the original film. Adywan deserves a lot of credit for his work, but not at the expense of others who deserve it too. Credit where credit's due.
cas_tanje: It's been done. Ganamae has seen a workprint version of the film.
I approve.
