Star Wars DVD Covers

Well, this is actually a test print on regular white paper. Of course, the plastic shines a bit, but I´m not sure how much chrome-ish the cover actually is...as I don´t have them.

Anyway, here is a look what the 6 disc artwork looks like. Stilll, this is "Work in progress". Not sure what the symbol means. Maybe it´s the Rebel Alliance logo.

Just mailed to let him know. He has made some really nice stuff. Even a new cover to fitt a carboard box housing all 6 movies! I also suggested him to register here as a member. We´ll see what he says.

take a look on ebay again....

- BUT you have to remember these sellers ARE ONLY ASKING for $1 when the auction starts.

IT'S the Buyers THAT BID and then CHOOSE to pay that insane amount of money. NOT THE SELLERS.

Rikter, I´m not arguing against you. These sets sells for outragous prices on Ebay, yes. Although, a forum member (forgot who it was) did notice an E-bay seller - only one, though - selling this set with "Buy it now" for $23.00. However, this is extremely rare.

I must stress, what you do offer in here Rikter is very remarkable and highly appreciated. The small profit you do get is well deserved.

Has anyone made some printer friendly inserts of the Anamorphic set that goes with the Cerbero´s negative style made by Liteoni? That is the black text on white background.

I would appreciate if anyone care to post a link or upload them.

Thanks.

That is one cool 'inksaver' dvd cover set - only drawback for me is that the colouring of some of the lettering is brown (not black) which I'm not a big fan of - I've been trying to experiment with changing the colours but have had no joy so far...

Yes, I noticed the brown lettering color. So I changed all the text into black in Photoshop. Took some time, though, but it was well worth it. I printed them out on thick white textured stock paper. Now, the minimalistic "inksaver" cover set are truly awsome. These covers really stand out in its own as I don´t care much for the ones that look like the Ep. 1 & 2 cover style with the gold spine.

Yea, no one here does that. Those Ebay idiots however, do. The only money you will pay here is for shipping of the disc and/or price of a DVD R, I believe.

Hmm, I find that remark odd. Both TR47 & Rikter sells the OT Set - for few bucks higher even - than the set mentioned a few post back. Is that for DVD-R´s alone shipping included?

Check it out. Comparison: New vs. Old

Mod Edit: Unfortunately the website linked to above is no longer around. However, the Internet Archive’s WayBack Machine has a working functioning link for DaMovieMan’s official list of changes for his STAR WARS OT DVD site, here:-

(I've only used negative in Gimp and fixed that screen capture to one taken from OT.)

If someone want's also episodes V, VI and the SM just ask me.

Looks very nice!

Yes, I´d love to see V, VI & SM done the same way. Is it possible for you to make all 4 of them available to download in a ZIP file in high resolution? Like to print them out.

To my mind, all the custom covers have merits of their own, so it all comes down to what will fit best with your own sensibilities. Lots of people want ink-savers, I prefer black.

What would be cool is if someone had the space to host all of the cover designs, just set up a Star Wars custom cover depot.

I agree with you. Custom covers are totally up to the individual.

I prefer the cover design made by Cerbero, though. Simple and black. No colors at all besides light blue.

BTW, which design has Rikter made? Do you have a link?

Thanks, for the nice welcome everyone.

Somehow the colors on the SE edition looks much warmer than the 2004 edition, which seem a bit cold and pale. Of course, it´s hard to make a comparison based on one image alone. On the other hand, the 2004 edtion seem to be the sharpest one, which of course should be expected. The best way would be to have 3 identical setup and run all three movies next to each other.
