There isn´t any half birate DTS ...only the Full bitrate.

The FULLBIT DTS (now OOP R1) were only DTS 5.0 - not 5.1 as stated on the cover.

First of all I´ll have to *bump* this thread.

How is this project coming along?

I´m so anxious to get my hands on copy of the forthcoming "Extra Extended Encore Edition". Gillean, please, put me on your list. Naturally, I´ll pay you for postage & effort. Do PM me when this project is finished.


Finally, I really praise all the hard work that is being done to make a nice DVD-r Extended version of this movie, which it deserves.

A follow-up on something we've been telling you to expect for quite while now. 2007, as you may well be aware, is the 30th anniversary of the original Star Wars' debut in theaters. You'd have to be stupid not to know that Lucasfilm is going to have big DVD release plans with which to celebrate the anniversary, and we've been telling you that was the case for many months now. Indeed, during our last visit to the Ranch for the DVD release of Episode III, producer Rick McCallum confirmed that a box set of all six films was going to happen eventually, and animation director Rob Coleman even let it slip that the puppet Yoda from Episode I had already been replaced with a new CG Yoda to match Episodes II & III for the "future" release. T-Bone over at Star Wars Universe recently speculated about this box set, and we've been quietly checking in with our industry sources on it as well. Well, we've confirmed it: There IS a big, ultimate, 6-film Star Wars anniversary DVD box set planned for 2007. There will be more changes to the films, and there will be LOTS of new, never-before-seen special features - all the good stuff that was held back by Lucasfilm from the original Trilogy DVD release a few years ago. Think deleted scenes and more. We don't know if good, genuinely-REMASTERED versions of the original theatrical editions of the films will be included or not (though how you could call the set "ultimate" without them, we don't know). We don't expect high-definition versions yet, as those formats are just too new. We don't have ANY other details for you yet, so please don't ask. But as you consider whether or not to purchase the "limited edition" DVDs due on 9/12... we thought you should know that more IS absolutely on the way next year. 'Nuff said for now.

As always, please keep in mind that titles discussed here are tentative and are subject to change until officially announced by the studios.

George Lucas has been working on re-mastering the entire series for a couple of years now making them ready for DVD release in 16:9 format.

From what I have heard The Box set will be gigantic one ...something like 66 DVDs !!! No news when this will be able to buy, but I assume it will be in conjunction with the release of Indy IV.

The Moth3r do seem to be the best one image wise (PAL transfer)

However, I do actually own the Dr. Gonzo version (got it throught Rikter). I ´ve read several reviews - in another thread on the of the seven versions compared - in another thread on the board - and it seem the Dr. Gonzo version still rates among the best ones available.

Just thought that there were a second-to-none version. I guess, it all depends what ones prefference are.

Finally, I seem that it´s impossible to get any sharper image besides the ones available now due to the source material... unless someone has the right equipment.

It´s been a while since visiting. Yes, it´s very sad the the OT won´t be released in Anamorphic in september, which is the reason for this post.

Image & soundwise and Anamorphically Enhanced, which version are the best of the unaltered Original Trilogy?

Hmm, thought everyone knew this already.

The Digital Bits reported this back in October.

The Digital Bits had this to say in their Rumor Mill section about Young Indy Jones: "...we have official confirmation from Lucasfilm's Jim Ward, via the Indy DVD event we attended on Saturday, that The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles TV series is currently in production for DVD release. There's no street date yet, but late 2004 is certainly possible. While we join them in hoping that these DVDs hit this year, we must remind everyone that Rick McCallum, a major Lucasfilm honcho if there ever was one, stated almost exactly a year ago that this set "won't be ready for 3 or 4 years". That puts it square in the range of 2005-2006, folks. But at least Mr. Ward confirms it is still in-the-works, and we thank him for that. And we thank Bill and all the guys at The Digital Bits for the info."

... and from The Indy Experience:

Just posted another update from Celebration III, which is now on it's third day. As promised, George Lucas was on the scene to talk with fans and during one of the press conferences, Lucas himself confirmed that work has begun on the Young Indiana Jones DVDs! Lucas stated that the studio had given them some grief in the past about the films, but production on the Young Indy DVD is still moving forward. In keeping with Lucas' crusade for education, Lucasfilm has also been hard at work on creating around 100 new documentaries on the film's characters and the historical figures Indy encounters through his adventures.


I guess a date just needs to be confirmed. But sometime early 2006 it´ll most it likely be released.

I have just seen ANIMAL ICONS: STAR WARS CREATURES shown on Animal Planet, which I have recorded on DVD.

Would anyone happen to have made a cool DVD cover for this program?

I have also seen the three episodes 3 x 60 minuttes of THE SCIENCE OF STAR WARS shown on Discovery Channel, which I also have recorded on DVD. Again, same question.

Would anyone happen to have made some cool DVD covers for these 3 episodes?

I would be extremely greatful if someone kindly would upload any artwork they may have made.

PS. Should I have missed any threads regarding my request, I apologize. However, I´d be happy if someone then would post the links to any threads in regards to the above issue.

No, need to worry about limited amount of the just release Trilogy. There will more than enough around until the next Box set release.

I read - believe it was at DigitalBits - that Lucas WILL be releasing a Box set of all 6 DVDs in one box with more extras on it. Don´t know whether this is true or not.

But you can count on Lucas will milk every Star Wars fans down to their last Dollar. There is no question we will see many more box sets releases of all 6 movies. Make sure of that.
