There should be no further suggestions or criticism for Harmy. We finally have a fabulous presentation of Star Wars that is nothing short of amazing. We should now focus our efforts on telling Harmy how great he is. We have all been coming to this site for so many years that some of us seem to have become confused as to our original goal. Our goal was to have Star Wars on DVD, and now we have it in a quality that can only be called fucking awesome. There should be no more "Harmy you should do this" or "Harmy I don't like that". You bitches don't deserve to smell Harmy's shit. Harmy rules. Harmy rules and you don't, just get over it. Harmy delivered and you didn't, so shut up. From now on just tell Harmy how fucking amazing this thing is and how much he rules because that's the truth. Harmy rules, Harmy is the man, Harmy is Elvis, Harmy is Zeus.

Just finished watching it for the second time. This is awesome. Harmy rules. Harmy is the fucking man, he's Zeus, he's Elvis. This disc is the balls, it's the cat's vagina, it's a cream dream. I'm gonna go watch it again.

It's amazing Harmy, just amazing. I can't believe the detail, it's insane. I feel bad for anyone who is watching this searching for things to nitpick. I just sat back and enjoyed, and I was blown away. Seamless Harmy. Incredible job.

 I've done some thinking and I willing to pop on that cast iron non sequitur dispenser at $35.00 just so we can break the ice here. That's cash. It's not in great shape but I love the sun baked stuff and it has some really nice lines. I know you're at $50.00 but there's just no meat left on the bone for me at that price, that's full blown retail. Let me look around some more and maybe we can bundle it with some smalls. It  might take me a while, this honey hole has tonnage and I'm already pretty junk drunk.

The best supplement that you could supply would be a Harmy's technical commentary track. It would rule to have an audio file (even a simple mp3) that could be synced with the film where you explain all of the changes and improvements that you made. I'm not just blowing smoke up your ass man, there are many people here who would REALLY appreciate that. Your work obviously stands on its own, but to have a real time account of what went into your masterpieces while watching them would just be to cool for words.

Bitchin'. I hope that after the Despecialized Trilogy is complete a line of collectables follows. There are so many Star Wars collectables and so few Harmy's Despecialized collectables. A MOC vintage style Harmy figure is probably too much to hope for, but man there should at least be a Harmy's Despecialized t-shirt.

This is so god damned exciting man. I've been coming to this site for years, as have most of the rest of the folks here, only to have our hopes dashed every time it looks like we're getting close to having the Original Trilogy back. This is just so friggin' cool man. I'm gonna go watch Empire again.

I have no problems with those shots. Man I hope you don't mistake our participation for criticism Harmy. Everyone here is so excited that we've been whipped into a frenzy. You've gotta understand, this is the first time that the real deal has ever been within our grasp. We've waited years for you to return to Earth Harmy, so of course everyone simply has to throw in their two cents. Whatever you decide to do with minor details like these is neither here nor there in the end, you've saved the Original Trilogy and that's all that really matters. I'm gonna go watch Empire again.

There is ample evidence to indicate the bolder colour choices are what the film looked like.

 

There is even more evidence to indicate that Mark Hamill was not bright orange during the making of the film. This stuff gets so damn subjective that the reference point that makes the most sense to me is skin tones. We pretty much know what white people's skin looks like, and if the characters end up looking like they're wearing spray on tan I don't care how much evidence supports those levels. I don't know shit about this stuff, but I do know when skin tones look weird, it's hard not be distracted by that.

And here's the final version of the "Look sir, droids" scene :-) I had to make the wipe from the second to the third shot start a bit earlier, because it was different in the SE but I think it works OK.

 It works beautifully, man are you a perfectionist. Keep up the great work Harmy, I can't wait till this is complete.

As to the lightsabres, I'm taking the same approach as with Empire, I'll be rotoscoping a few but most of the time just brightening and colour-correcting them. For some lightsabre scenes I'm actually gonna use Ady's AVCHD because he already fixed a lot of the issues with the lightsabres and it's just too much work to do all over.

 Hey Harmy can you post a video of the SE version of that matte painting? Sorry to be so gay about this, but I've never seen the SE version. Oh man I can't wait for ANH to be complete. I don't mean to press you, but if you had to take a wild ass ball park guess, when do you think ANH will be completed...weeks...months? I'll go watch ESB again while I wait for your response.

The first five and the crawl are just killer. Each clip is better than the next. I just can't wait for this thing to be finished.

I agree with Stinky and Lando Lakes, watch the saturation Harmy. You are the greatest man who ever lived (Jesus included), and your on the verge of the greatest accomplishment in human history (the moon landing & assless chaps included). The only thing that makes me say this is when I look at the skin tones, they look a bit too orange in the test shots. I take that back, how dare I. I swear to god you're the best. You do whatever you want with the saturation. Checking in on this thread is the highlight of my day. My boyfriend is all "Are you looking at that Harmy thread again", and I'm all "Jesus Christ all you do is nag!" He just doesn't get it, women (and old queens) just don't appreciate Star Wars or anything else super cool.

There's nothing sadder than an old queen.

There's nothing cooler than Harmy (except action figures).

Well, here it is, the latest attempt of removing the Jabba scene as closely to the theatrical version as possible (2006 DVD is in the lower left corner for comparison). It's not 100% accurate but it's as close as it's gonna get without resolving to using 06DVD footage. This clips also contains new version of the "door is locked" shot.

There is also the shot of Luke selling his speeder with the added ships in the background removed. I tried replacing the whole sky bit but the telecine shake on the 06DVD made it stand out like a sore thumb, which is something I am battling constantly (it's a problem present in every one of the rotoscoped shots to some degree) and I'd really love to know how to do something about it. I tried the stabilizing function in AE but it doesn't seem to work too well on it.

 That looks pretty damn seamless Harmy. Fantastic as always. Your obsessive attention to detail is going to pay off once again with ANH.
