Yeah thanks Doubleofive :)
On a wee side note, I got my copy of "The Making of the Empire Strikes Back" hardcover today!
Nice! I'm waiting for the softcover.
005, how many times did you watch the clip before you finished the comparison shots? I would imagine, um...several? ;)
Thanks for the reminder, Imp. :)
Edit: Nice job, 005! I always miss something, like the shadow of the SD on the SSD. Nice little touch he did there.

Yeah, I'm thinking my intended donation is going to go to Adywan instead.
Hey, now there's a cause with no confusion attached. Good thinking.
There is no concrete proof of anything yet.
I don't even visit the other sections. I think I have maybe 2 posts outside the Minibosses one. The Shizz isn't entirely dedicated to the same thing. It seems the video game nuts/musicians are just renting space, so to speak.
Perhaps you noticed that the actual forum we post at on The Shizz is the Minibosses forum. They're a rock band that does covers of video game tunes. A ton of the posters at The Shizz do so as well, and the MAGfest free month at Dwelling of Duels is always the best of the year.

That site is a great introduction to the wonderful world of video game remixing. I can get into more specifics and styles of music within the genre if anyone is interested.
Do you even know what a magfest is? :p
Nah, you just get paid per mouse click. Where'd he say that, anyway?
Seems ok to me, for what that's worth. I think it's great that you and Jay were just trying to help.
:D
There were several I didn't know had died in that montage. Don't remember hearing, anyway. Robert Culp, Dennis Hopper, Kevin McCarthy, Eddie Fisher (Carrie's dad, of course). Sad when they had to show three in a row from Airplane, too... :(
Thought I'd bump this once in a while. ;)
Yes, and right after I posted that up there, I remembered this comment Jay made in the e-mail:
"Even if it's just $1, getting that much from every forum member would provide over half of what Dayv needs to complete his treatments."
So yes, it is definitely everyone. :) If you still haven't gotten his message after a while, I can paste it here if you want.
^Yes, I got that e-mail and I needed it. I tend to stick to a few threads and forget to browse the forum as often as I should. As a result, I didn't know about this situation until I got Jay's message.
I just read through the whole thread. I'm saddened by what is happening, of course, and I hope you will keep your chin up as much as you can. It's great to see the helpful spirit here. When I read about the car, it reminded me of a very similar incident that happened to some friends here. Their 4-year-old daughter was diagnosed with leukemia and is undergong treatments. During one visit to the hospital, the family's van was stolen from the parking lot. Another stupidly timed coincidence. Thankfully, they got their van back the next day and thankfully you got your car back too. ;)
I'm definitely willing to help out. (not as much as I might like, but some nonetheless) You're one of the good guys, DAYV. I've always enjoyed your posts and I'd like to keep on doing so.
P.S. Frink, I dunno if it was sent to every member (probably, though), but certainly to long-timers/regulars, so you'll probably get one once your ISP wakes up. :p
^Fixing that is ok, but the one up there isn't? ;) This is about nitpicking, you know... There are things Adywan and others have found that even hardcore nitpickers have missed and yet he's fixing some of them anyway.
Ah yes. Looks like an easy enough fix. (...I think?)
Ah yes. That's one I've heard about but never actually looked for. I'm sure Ady will be able to smooth it out better in the end. These clips we see are rarely 100% complete anyway. (and it does give an opportunity for the eagle-eyed to make more suggestions)

YOu know I never can spot this bending effect that everyone talks about
I haven't noticed it either. Can someone tell us at what time it happens in the video?

Is it going to be possible for you to add a glimpse of C3PO and R2 as seen in Shot 2 into the right-hand side of the miniature 'window' seen in Shot 1, even though it's a moving shot?
Wow, that'd be something. As usual, good thinking. Your posts are crazy! (in a good way) It would make sense, as they're only a couple of feet back from the window, but that sounds like it could be a lot of work to get it to play smoothly.
What do you guys mean by vignette, anyway? To me, that indicates a short video, like they use vignettes to introduce wrestlers so people know something about them before the debut. :p
Guys, cool it. ;) I'm sure Ady sees the value in the suggestions coming from both of you. This thread has seen enough drama of late as it is.
No matter what, you just know the swamp scenes are going to look better than what we got on the DVDs, even if he just did color correction. But we know he's doing more and probably working on stuff we can't even see/imagine yet.
Be sure to check that thread, as he is completing more of it as he goes. It's looking more and more like a model, which is a good thing.
^You should know by now that he usually does one big multi-quoted 'catch up' post after a while that addresses several things at once. ;)
