I'm the kind of guy that needs to see things side by side to really see the differences (hence my suggestion of the Visual Comparison for ANHR)

Which is excellent, by the way, if you haven't seen me type that before! I'm hoping you'll do one for ESBR as well. Really fun to go through. :)

Thanks for the great clips, Ady. WOW, the difference between the starfields, again, is shocking. The 2004 footage reminds me of that cool episode of "Star Trek Voyager" where they went through an area of space that had no visible stars and it made the crew miserable.

Oh, and I may be alone on this, but I kinda like Luke's greener 2004 goggles better than the more natural color. Haha.

Actually, the rare LD that I have is for the '1990 Honda VTec CR-X'. It's a sort of video sales brochure for the car and is quite collectable to other CR-X'ers. It's my precious (insert best Golum voice) ... ohh dear, all this talk aof CR-X's and I think I may have put Ripplin to sleep :/

Not at all! I love the CR-X, and cars in general. :) I actually have a dealer only Honda DVD. Haha. It's called "The Power of Dreams: Salo de l'Automobil de Barcelona 2005." Just talks about innovations, like Asimo, for instance.

So yeah, I have some weird stuff, too. ;)

I have burned DLs only with Nero and have never made a coaster. (we're talking at least a dozen burned for far) I am absolutely convinced that a lot of people's problems come from burning too fast. I keep it slow (max 4x, often 2.4x) and everything is peachy keen.

I have only been able to burn DL's at 4x, so with me it's never an issue of burning too fast.

Same here, but I think either 6x or 8x has been selectable a couple of times I was going to do it. I did 4x anyway.

Different people will say different things, Darth Solo. For example, I have burned DLs only with Nero and have never made a coaster. (we're talking at least a dozen burned for far) I am absolutely convinced that a lot of people's problems come from burning too fast. I keep it slow (max 4x, often 2.4x) and everything is peachy keen.

And Ady, I will let you know the second I get my disc. Can't wait! (yet I must)

Thought I'd make a thread for people to show their Star Wars related art. If you have anything, be sure and show us!

Here is some of my stuff:

Did this when I was 14 or so. Mostly an excuse to try the pen and pencil combination on Vader. Would've looked better had I used something more than just an HB pencil.

(I did this Boba Fett Lego guy around a year ago. He looks quite cartoony compared to these troopers, which I've all done within the last two weeks.)

(the designs in the prequels are by far my favorite part of them, sadly)

I have a lot more drawings, but they're just ancient, embarassing scribblings. :p

I don't remember if this had been addressed yet, but is the transparency of the interior shots of the speeders being fixed?

With all the seemingly unavoidable PT and ROTJ talk even though this is the ESB thread (I'm guilty, too), I first read 'transparency of the interior shots of the speeder bikes' and I thought 'what? I never noticed anything like...oh, oops.' :p

I would imagine that any lingering problems with those shots is one of the first things Ady thought of, though. Just another fix that would be nice if it were simpler... Would this be comparable to repainting the lasers?

The thing about Boba Fett's "death" to me is that it's just more silliness added to a movie that has way too much silliness in it as it is. (the belches and Tarzan yell are the worst offenders to me.) Sure, not every cool character has to go out in a 'blaze of glory', but blimey, I think that after he became the apotheosis of cool in ESB, he deserves more than getting hit by a blind man with a stick and yelling like a little girl as he bounces off the sail barge. ;)

make me laugh now though cuz i saw the HD-EP30 on sale in my local electric store for £60 now. I'm just so glad i went with Bluray.

Yeah, that whole HD war had a sort of sad ending, especially for XBox 360 owners, for example. I've seen the 360 HD-DVD player for $50 (or £25) now, and I'm sure that price will be cut in half soon enough.

Fix worked! It plays perfectly on my ps3, panasonic DMR50, and PC... but the menu locks up on my Toshiba HD A2.

Thats a fault with the Toshiba players and the NTSC versions. The same problem was reported with the NTSC DVD-5 version. After doing a lot of searching last time it seems that its to do with the firmware (some reporting that it happens on commercial DVD's & some HD-DVD's too) but don't expect Toshiba to fix it now HD-DVD is dead

I can confirm that, too. I brought a copy of the NTSC DVD-5 with me to Staples to try it on an LCD TV. They had a Toshiba HD player hooked up to it and the movie wouldn't play. It just kept freezing every time we tried playing it. Ended up playing the movie with WMP on the computer, through to the TV. Looked kinda blurry. Haha. Not a good test after all. Oh well.

Anyway, looking good Ady, it's so difficult to understand how we've just accepted the blue-tinted 2004 DVDs as being the 'best we could get' when your as-yet-unfinished initial colour correction run shows it should have been much better tweaked by those who know better!

I think a lot of us are shocked at how bad the blue is in some places, but what really looks inexcusably terrible to me are the green C-3P0 and neon green Yoda. What would GL say? "Well, after all this time, 3P0 is tarnishing and molding, and it turns out the area around Yoda's hut was highly radioactive..."
