STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

Personally, I've advised certain various friends and their brats who hadn't yet seen any of the Star Wars saga, to start with 'A New Hope' (Adywan's version of course) and the rest of the Original Trilogy, before seeing the Prequels, regardless of the numerical order.... :)

It would certainly help people to understand how vastly disappointed we (as long-time OT fans) all were with the PT.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind the number of AT-ATs staying the same. Kinda shows their arrogance, like "as if they'd beat these indestructible machines. Let's just send a few down and get this over with." But adding in another AT-ST here and there could be neat.

And to Shadow, I completely agree about the design element of the PT. It's my favorite part of it, in fact. I don't like it all, but I do like the fact that with each succesive movie, the machines and troopers got closer in design to the OT ones. That's something I looked forward to going into Episode III. And I have a feeling you will definitely see some of your suggestions put into the film.

Wow, 500 is great! Thanks, Jay. Very nice! :)

And yes, I think the PM box search would be good. Sometimes we'll have a ton of "Re: [whatever]" messages, and you have to go through all of them just to find one link or tidbit of information or whatever. Things could be sped up tremendously in some cases.

My thought on the whole stardestroyer placement issue is that all the stardestroyers have all just returned from deploying the probe droids around the various systems and are now regrouping with the Executor, so they would be facing all directions and not uniform in placement

Just what I've always thought. The SSD is like a homebase and the rest are just coming and going, meaning they'd be facing in different directions. :)

Oh, and Ady, I would love to contribute towards the monitor and whatever else. My job future is a little fuzzy at the moment, but I'll try when things are clearer! I certainly would have done so towards the HDD a while back had I known at the time.

And DarthBo, thanks for the space slug. I was away all day and didn't get to respond. :)

So I decided to watch Adywan's edition first. :) It was great looked very great very clear the lasers were very defined I enjoyed it very much. Thanks Adywan I can't wait till the Empire Strikes Back I might even hold off watching ESB all together (I have never seen it before) till your version comes out even though I have already bought the 2 dvd set.

Just so you know... generally speaking... Empire is thought to be THE best of the entire saga...

Generally speaking...

;' )

So do you think I should wait till adywan releases his version or should I just go ahead and watch the version I have. I might be expecting to much if I don't what do you think.

Even in SE form, ESB is the least messed up of the three. Even Adywan has said it is already a nearly perfect movie (which it is) and his edit will be much more cosmetic than Star Wars was. So, by all means, DON'T WAIT! ;) You'll kick yourself if you do.

Having gotten up to over 140 total messages already (down to around 120 after deleting a bunch), I'm wondering what the significance of your "at the moment, 200 total messages" is. ;)

More would be great, but if it's not possible, at least 200 is a monstrous amount compared to how it was before. Heh.

Bad media.

I've burned a couple of dozen Memorex DLs and have never made a coaster, so to me, they're not "bad" per sé. I would never recommend them to anyone, though. ;) It also helps that I never burn them at max speed, either. That's a problem that many just don't seem to understand.

there's an AT-AT that shoots a soldier and then it shoots the shield generator... do you think it would HONESTLY take the time to do that?

Odd, to be sure, but I've always liked it, partly because of the cool laser sounds and how busy that area looks. Besides, it takes all of two seconds for the whole thing.

I wish this was April 1st...

Very sad news indeed. Maybe the responses weren't exactly overwhelming like they were with Revisited, but there was definitely a strong fanbase for these edits. As others have said, this was one of the more interesting ideas we've ever heard of for Star Wars edits. I hope something can still be done with these. Maybe ADigitalMan can do something... He knows the score.

Anyway, thanks and I wish you guys all the best.

The reason I demostrated the original cue (yes, that's the ORIGINAL Probe Droid cue) rather than the film alternate is that is Ady is going to be rebuilding the Sound field, then the alternate will produce more problems than it will solve.

For one, the music quality is different than the rest becuase it was one of a couple tracks that are improperly and haphazardly mixed on the SE.

Two, it's missing a few bars which enable the transition between it and the music as Luke is on the taun taun.

And lastly, to simply show what it was like.

As for the request to mix in the sfx, I've done that before... but my video got pulled from YouTube... I'll post it again here if you'd like...

You already have it SFXed? Awesome. You can post it here, we won't tell anyone!

Yeah, really! Funny that it got pulled from YT, too, especially as LFL has pretty much given the green light to so many other Star Wars-related things. And even the Revisited and Reborn trailers are still there, right?

I've heard all the unused music before and I love how the music syncs to the actual probe droid crash, but not immediately after that, when it rises from the crater. Feels more cutesy than menacing. I dunno, there's just something about it. If it had always been there in every version, however, might be a different story. Heh.

The idea of changing the crawls didn't really go over too well when we proposed it a while ago, so we've decided since then to just leave the originals as is. The prequel crawls won't be involved at all.

I say if you want to do it, do it. ;) It's your edit and you should do it exactly the way you want to. This is already one of the more radical edits of the Star Wars films anyway, and that's one of the biggest reasons I look forward to watching it. If a few people don't like it, tough oatmeal! Heh.

Wow. I can't believe I never noticed that the background plate was exactly the same in those two shots (falcon/slave I). Even the clouds are exact. If that stays in it will bug me forever. Thanks for that.

Well, as we've seen in ANHR, Ady does a nice job with replacing skies and clouds and such. :)

Hey doubleofive, how do you put pics in your post?

I wondered that too, as it has changed since the revamp. If you click on "Help" up near the top (beside "Contact Us"), it shows you what different formatting can be done here, including adding pictures. The formatting for adding images is a little odd compared to most forums.

Edit: Oh, he beat me to it. ;)

i will probably be adding some TIEs chasing and shooting down some escaping ships

No offense, but, um...why? Cuz they're bored? ;) We know the Imperials are jerks, but still. I mean, Vader and the rest of his pals are there to get Skywalker. This just sounds like bullseyeing womprats, y'know? I'd love to hear your reasoning for this (I figure there's something to this decision I'm missing), because my gut reaction at the moment is that it's just something you want to do because it can be done. I think it would be just as good to simply show a bunch of ships flying away from Cloud City to make the scene more lively/urgent, but not being destroyed.
