I do wonder if Ady plans to do anything with the lifeless instrumentation in the cockpit, though. Wouldn't want to see too much, just a subtle blink here and there, maybe? A simple static graphic instead of blackness?

You'll be glad to see then, that he now states on number 24 of his list on page 1, that he plans to adds something subtle to the snowspeeder's instrument panel.

Ah yes. Thanks. I've been a bit forgetful lately, it seems. :p It'll be interesting to see exactly what he plans, because it really should be subtle so as not to draw away from the nice camera work and such. Don't want it to be like 'wow, look at how flashy that panel is! Hey wait, did the speeder just fly under a walker?' I dunno. That's why I mentioned maybe a static graphic with just a very small blink here and there.

That's why I added timestamps to the front of all of my videos.  Also helps so I can see the progress that has been made.  Here is my listing, for those curious:

2008-03-01 esb_revisited_v2_teaser.mpg
2008-05-22 esb_revisited_comparison.avi......

I probably meant to do that myself then forgot and didn't apply it to any of them. I will add the dates now, using your list as a guide. :)

Interesting to see the speeder transparency issue come back again. I know it will be a non-issue in the end, though. ;) I do wonder if Ady plans to do anything with the lifeless instrumentation in the cockpit, though. Wouldn't want to see too much, just a subtle blink here and there, maybe? A simple static graphic instead of blackness?

^That's a nice exchange right there, boys. I like to see co-operation here rather than the downward turn people's opinions can sometimes lead to. :p

I must say that I wouldn't really want to see any EU stuff in the Revisited movies either (but wouldn't complain either way), especially as a lot of EU and PT stuff feels like it was just tacked on after the fact to make certain scenes and references more 'convenient.' Know what I mean?

Having said that, I once read 10 Star Wars novels in the span of around a I-have-WAY-too-much-time-on-my-hands month and a half! I do not recommend such a thing. I don't remember any of it, and all the details got mashed together. That was just over 10 years ago and I've read probably less than half a dozen since then. Haha. The prequels (especially TPM) really did kill my love for Star Wars for a long time. Long live OT.com!

you haven't seen the new clip then. thats the old one you mention which was only colour corrected. This one is a different scene and every FX shot is new. The new one i posted up here^^^^^^^^

B'oh! Yes, sorry about that. See, I already downloaded that, then placed it in a folder on my desktop called 'ESB Re extras.' What I watched was an older video called 'asteroid_chase_comparison' rather than the proper one. :p I'm going to watch it now.

*watching it now*

Wawaweewa! :D Now that's a densely populated, sharp-looking asteroid field. Very nice, sir!

^Unless I missed something, the asteroids look the same to me, just color corrected.

The thing I get a kick out of is the camera shake. That makes a massive difference. Watch the guys flinging themselves around with no shake and it just looks funny now. It's almost like they meant to do a camera shake and forgot.

Another big difference is when they're going into the asteroid and Leia is saying "what looks pretty good?" Look at the top windows in the cockpit in the original version. It's almost like the windows are greasy and it's making the blue tint more evident. Ady's is cleaned up nicely. :)

I notice in that schematic dealy that AxiaEuxine posted that on the bottom right, near the top of the walker, it says Vehicle Bay. What would they carry? Speeder bikes? TIE fighters? I know this goes into EU territory, having never been shown in the movie, but what's supposed to be in there?

I guess my thing is if you want to keep the red box and the green slider, add it to Luke's in the beginning to be consistent.  Then again, the whole "different setting" thing works too.

It's funny how it could go in two different directions like that. I'd be happy either way. We could just say that Luke's binocs are using a different OS than the other guy's. Heh.

I think something will be added to Luke's, though. (or has been already? I can't remember.)

Aw man, really Monroville?  Personally, I always liked the overall colour/'movement' of the original Rebel trooper binocular graphic better than the plain original Luke binocular graphic.  I'd be sorry to see the effect either side go, and hope Adywan feels the same.

I wholeheartedly agree. It's supposed to be that way. If it was a sharp, uncluttered picture, people would think 'wow, look at those things!' But having it cluttered, blurry and 'distracting,' it's like 'what are those things?' Then you see them later and are awed. ;)

Plus, that reddish box gives it a bit more character.

That's insane! I get the opposite with my ISP: I started out with a speed of 5MB and they've gradually upped it to 8MB for free. 60GB usage (combined up/down) per month, too.

You really do need another provider, it seems. That's incredibly restrictive, especially if you're paying for a decent plan. I bet they're going to lose a lot of customers.
