That's a harsh way to put it..........

I would say that LASERMAN has the GREATEST skills...... but do forget that he has been helping EVERYONE doing the transfers.

Even the student can surpass the master.

The truth is different people with find all the versions different - there will NOT be ONE set that will please EVERYONE - Just look at how bad the official disc failed.

Is this set available 4 sale somewhere?

ps I'd also love 2 C score only versions of the Indiana Jones trilogy.

1st. No ones allowed to offer DVD's for sale here anymore

2nd. This set is FREE to download - The creator of the set requested that this NOT be sold, So per his request - I only offer it for free download

Hey there MeBeJedi,

I read the exploits of you *morally* justified bootleggers with interest, and just want to assure you that you are not alone. I haven't bought Lucas's half assed/half completed DVD releases either! Keep up the good work!

GPK.

First..

THANKS so much for your support of the fan community.....

Second... These are not "bootlegs".... These are what I like call "Archive Discs" and "Fan Edits" not bootlegs. When the term bootleg is used it is cheaping the works that have been done and impling that these are street "bootlegs" when most people hear that term they hear what roughly translates to [a knock-off or a cheap reproduction]. SO much work has gone into all these DVD's that the fans including myself have created and I think that they should be treated better then "bootlegs" -

I would like to thank Zion, MeBeJedi and everyone else who has contributed to the creation of these "Archive Sets" and all those who support this site and others like it.

The "Dr. Gonzo" Trilogy DVD Info and Feedback Thread (Released)
Time

This Info/Feedback thread is all about the “Dr. Gonzo” Original Trilogy Set.

This set seems to be the most “complete” Definitive Collection Set YET the set has REALLY awesome menus for all four discs and the films include

INFO FROM Dr. Gonzo!

The player was a Pioneer CLD-990. I used a Sony DVMC-DA2 for Analogue to DV conversion. TMPGEnc was used for IVTC and MPEG-2 encoding. Sonic Scenarist was used for AC3 encoding and authoring. Menus done in Photoshop (of course). Easter Eggs: ANH - Blink182: A New Hope, ESB - Twin Sister: Scoundrel, ROTJ - CreativEngine: Darth Maul (He’s My Friend and All). That’s about all I can remember off the top of my head. It’s been a long time ago now and a project that I originally intended for myself and some friends & family has grown to be common on the 'net. Pretty weird.

The Lowdown…

Star Wars - Original Trilogy - The “Dr. Gonzo” Edition includes a super sweet Commentary Track, the documentaries/interviews, trailers, concept art, production stills (right?)

DVD Information

 • 4 DVDr’s
 • Source - U.S. Definitive Collection LD rip version
 • Anamorphic Transfer
 • Commentary Track

Trilogy Tech Specs

 • 4.22gigs, 4.31gigs, 4.36gigs
 • Interactive Menus
 • Video: 5-8 Mbps (average bitrate)
 • Anamorphic Widescreen Enhanced for 16x9 Monitors

The "Farsight" Trilogy DVD Info and Feedback Thread (Released)
Time

This Info/Feedback thread is all abouth the “Farsight” Original Trilogy Set that was posted on Myspleen.net

This info was lifted from myspleen…

Major differences in this version compared to others are Anamorphic video, ac3 sound, improved video bitrate, and an extremely high amount of care taken to ensure that the result is as good as possible given the source (an old film print on analog medium).

Source is the 9-disc LaserDisc set, the best available source for these versions of the movies. Encoded through S-Video, with great care to get 0 dropped frames, correctly merge the 6 disc-sides per film, properly convert the framerate, deinterlace the video, clean up analog noise w/o blurring the image, normalize the sound, and fix the various field-order errors in the original source. Basically, it’s unlikely you’ll see a better version of these films any time soon.

The Lowdown…

Star Wars - Original Trilogy - The “FARSIGHT” Edition includes an EXTRAS disc - The extras come from the Definitive Laserdisc set, and includes all the documentaries, interviews, trailers, concept art, production stills and a DVD-Rom folder with the stills from the LD!

DVD Information

 • 4 DVDr’s
 • Source - U.S. Definitive Collection LD rip version
 • NO Menus

Trilogy Tech Specs

 • 4.26gigs, 4.22gigs, 4.22gigs
 • Anamorphic Widescreen Enhanced for 16x9 Monitors
 • Video: 4-6 Mbps (average bitrate) / Encoding: ~ 4500kbps 3-pass CCE @ 23.97 fps
 • Audio 1: Dolby Digital 2.0 (192 Kbps)

Extras Tech Specs

 • 2.40gigs
 • Interactive Menus
 • Video: 4.46 Mbps (average bitrate)
 • Audio: Main - Dolby Digital 2.0 (256 Kbps)

This complete Trilogy was added to my collection just recently - I’ll post a review when I can but Please feel free to leave your reviews here also!!

Is General Grievous really Maul??
Time
Okay first let me say this - This might sound nuts.

OKAY now that I pointed out the obvious...

I've always felt that we got short-changed when GL killed Maul off so early in Episode I ~ It could have been REAL cool to have seen an ongoing duel with Obi-Wan that spans all three movies. That and it would have been super sweet to have seen Maul in the Clone Wars toons!

BUT I just watched the Clone Wars toons for the 10th time (?) and in the last episode with General Grievous I noticed his eyes again... A creepy bloodshot yellow - like Mauls (Then the white robes that kinda reminded me of when Gandalf is "reborn" as Gandalf the White) and the fact that he is SO skilled with the lightsaber...

So could General Grievous actually be a restored Darth Maul?

sure, but i only have 10k upload, would take years.
i can upload the english + spanish .srt syncronized subtitles
and i can show you an easy tutorial with a program called dvdlab
to insert the subtitles to the isomix release

That would work

The Cowclops Transfers (a.k.a. the PCM audio DVD's, Row47 set) Info and Feedback Thread (Released)
Time
Okay - this is my review of the TR47 set...

This is most likley the BEST set that is out right now IMHO ~ The Transfer is first rate, The audio is just about STOOPID COOL - NO set has audio this clean and sweet (YET!) it is a bit louder than most of the sets that are out but it is wonderful!! - The Black Levels could be a bit better but I use a video processor when I veiw or screen the set for friends on my projector

Here's a picture for you to check out - I used my PC for playback so I had an RGB connection not S-Video

94 inches of TR47 greatness!!
http://home.comcast.net/~newmexicoufo/94_inch_SW.JPG

I play it back with an Onkyo TX-SR501 with DTS NEO6 processing of the LPCM audio ~ It also sounds SUPER SWEET with Dolby Pro-Logic II but I do preffer the DTS

It took me a while to get a working set but man the wait was worth it!!!!

NOW to the extras discs...

There is a lot of content on these discs. BUT most of the features are televison clips and other "internet" type stuff - IT's REALLY neat but the discs have extra NON-TRILOGY features that the really have no place in a "Definitive Collection". DON'T get me wrong they are AWESOME Discs and feature some of the trailers, the alternate and cut scenes from SW, the WOW! laserdisc demo the making of Documentaries. Again these are a nice addition to any Star Wars Fan's collection but they are not a must.

AGAIN - I'm not talking down to this set or the creators of the set it just has a lot of things like clips from "The 70's Show" and "The Simpsons" for me it's just a bit much for my TR47 boxset!

When the TR47 set sits along side my "Blaksvn" 6 disc "Making The Trilogy Collection" it makes for one of the MOST complete sets EVER!!!!
