VH1's When Star Wars Ruled the World

Few movies have reached the iconic status of the original Star Wars trilogy. A
long-shot science fiction project that was rejected by multiple Hollywood
studios, Star Wars (and its creator George Lucas) defied the skeptics and became
one of the biggest pop culture phenomena of all time. Now VH1 is working with
Lucasfilm to produce the ultimate oral history of the Star Wars years, When Star
Wars Ruled the World. Timed to coincide with the DVD release of the original
trilogy on September 21, 2004, this hour-long documentary will take viewers back
to those rapturous moments when the whole world wanted to wield a light saber.

The show begins in the mid-1970s as George Lucas struggles to find a way to make
his dream project a reality. Relive the incredible and unlikely impact of the
first Star Wars movie, the sudden fame of unknowns like Harrison Ford, Mark
Hamill and Carrie Fisher, and the way fans around the world fell in love, first
with the movie and then with the action figures, pillow cases, C-3PO cereal and
everything else they could - and did - line up to buy. Manufacturers could
hardly keep up with the demand for anything and everything Star Wars (swamped by
clamoring fans, the official Star Wars toymaker, Kenner, at one point had to
settle for selling vouchers for yet-to-be-made action figures.)

The show will also chronicle the immense anticipation for the first Star Wars
sequel, The Empire Strikes Back and the build-up to the climactic Return of the
Jedi that had fans traveling hundreds of miles to visit the gates of the movie's
set. Along the way, we will highlight the cultural impression made on millions
of fans by Star Wars icons like Darth Vader, Ewoks, and Yoda, and lines like "I
am your father," "That's no moon. It's a space station," and, "May the force be
with you."

INTERVIEW LIST:

* Mark Hamill - Luke Skywalker
* Carrie Fisher - Princess Leia
* Harrison Ford - Han Solo
* Anthony Daniels - C-3P0

Well a few days after the set formally known as STAR WARS - The "Mysterious
Mysteries" Edition was posted on the torrents the creator[s] anonymity was
partially broken...

First, there was a quoted email that was posted on OT.com forums that gave us
insight into all the wonderful and juicy details of this sets conception; along
with a technical walk-through of the eventual results. A few days later I
received a very wonderful email from a member of the EditDroid team that
requested that the moniker that we (my brothers and I) gave this now highly
sought after set no longer be attached and as per their request...

We are now VERY honored and proud to present the very aptly named...

STAR WARS - The 1975 Casting Auditions

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…

Shot back in 1975 at the original Lucas Studios with a Super-8 camera, these are
the highlights of the original casting auditions from Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher
and Harrison Ford. You'll also see what may have been if Kurt Russell, William
Katt, Linda Purl, Robbie Benson, Cindy Williams, Terri Nunn, Frederic Forrest or
Amy Irving had been cast as our beloved Han Solo or Princess Leia; even more
amazing are the audition scripts that are used for these screen tests as they
include dialogue from the original 'Journal of the Whills' draft.

This DVDr was created from one of two VHS to DVD transfers; one I acquired in a
trade many moons ago (I really forgot where or who it came from - sorry!) the
other from eBay about a year ago. Most VHS versions (I have two VHS versions -
both of lower quality) I have seen are only 30-60 minutes long this version MAY
be the longest cut of the auditions coming in at 90 minutes. This "Angrysun"
version has simply taken the original disc and re-authored it to included a no
frills menu and chapter stops NOTHING fancy but functional.

ENJOY!

I'm asking for your Promise to copy this Disc as many times as you can and then
give or trade copies to EVERY fan you know! This will help prevent the Darkside
Dealers (eBay/comic shop sellers) from selling copies for $50!

If you bought this DVD for more than $5 you've been duped, suckered and
hoodwinked. This DVD was intended to be distributed within the Star Wars and DVD
trading community for FREE or just the cost of a blank DVD and shipping.

I do not want anyone to feel that I'm attempting to exploit these wonderful
renditions of Star Wars Universe. I just want to share these with other fans and
at the same time keep the Star Wars Fan Created Universe Alive and free of
hooligans!

So the breakdown -

In this torrent you'll find
1 - A DVD Decrypter created ISO file set to burn with Nero or DVD Decrypter!
2 - DVD-rom folder includes a custom cover by Blaksvn

True, I will be doing a "EditDroid" NFO that includes this information for Empire and Jedi...

But I've not been contacted about this by anyone until this post (I don't read the forum anymore or read my PM's but once a week) so sorry for any delays

Yes, it was I who posted the first disc on the torrents - I've made my case many times about the naming of the set and have IMPLORED the creators for more information but yet none has gotten in contact with me directly. YES, I will be adding the "EDITDROID" name to the set as I posted before so NO worries there gang.....

ALSO, could the creator[s] of the "Mysterious Mysteries" By EditDroid PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send me an NFO to include with my next release of the The "EditDroid" Empire Strikes Back and The "EditDroid" Return of the Jedi DVD's?

ANY and ALL contact information will remain 100% confidential unless otherwise requested..

The "Mysterious Mysteries" Collection by EditDroid

I gave this name to the set as it was a TOTAL mystery as to who created the set but the main reason is that I released this on "MYSPLEEN" which started out as an INVADER ZIM episodes mirror/torrent site (the phrase 'MY spleen!' is a quote from the Episode "Dark Harvest") SO being an Invader Zim fan myself I figured the name "Mysterious Mysteries" was apt.

Again I truly ment no offense...

Now, if I recall, there was a DVD without chapter stops, but that was at the specific request of the director. I think it was a David Lynch film.

You are correct. Lynch DVDs without chapter selection include The Straight Story, Mulholland Dr and Eraserhead. It's his belief that a film should be taken in one sitting because it was not written to be segmented or to be set aside and come back to, like a book.

And I concur with Mr. Lynch on this... IMHO I find no need for Chapter Selection on DVD's; I've never really used this feature before and that is why the DVD's that I author don't have them.
