Star Wars on Discovery & Animal Planet - DVD Cover request, and more...

THE SCIENCE OF STAR WARS

Episode one, "Man and Machine," takes a close look at how robots are currently used to clean the house, walk the dog, and identify life in the rubble caused by an earthquake. It examines how droids will soon replace astronauts on dangerous spacewalks and act as flying R2-D2's to people living in space. And the future of artificial intelligence makes Darth Vader possible as scientists give prosthetics a mind of their own.

"Space Cowboys" is the title of THE SCIENCE OF STAR WARS episode two, which looks at high tech methods of mobility and communication. The show theorizes that in the near future hovercraft may be commonplace vehicles. Various other vehicles are still in prototype stages, but H2O cars and HyWire cars (hydrogen and by wire) are here today and equipped with technology able to "sense" traffic patterns or danger ahead. This episode poses the question of how tomorrow's hot rods might look.

The final episode of THE SCIENCE OF STAR WARS, "War, Weaponry and The Force" examines how "Star Wars" technology is changing the military. Not quite a clone army yet, but the Future Force Warrior (FFW-Army) and the Berkely Lower Extremity Exoskeleton (BLEEX) are equipping fighters with Storm Trooper-like gear. Laser Blasters being tested by the US military are a directed energy weapon that uses a laser beam to send an electric charge to the target. The Close Quarters Shock Rifle projects an ionized gas or plasma toward the target, and it can neutralize a whole group of attackers, and kill their electronic ignition getaway systems at the same time. This episode also explores the culture of China's Shaolin monks, martial arts experts whose philosophy of harmony with nature has led some to call them "real life Jedi Knights."

ANIMAL ICONS: STAR WARS CREATURES

This show gives viewers a glimpse into the stories behind the unique and quirky creatures that define these epic films. From Ewoks to Wookiees to Boga, Star Wars movies have given us some of the world's most memorable fantasy creatures — aliens so vivid, they almost seem real.

Where did the idea for Jabba the Hutt originate? Did you know the character of Chewbacca was inspired by film creator George Lucas' family dog? ANIMAL ICONS: STAR WARS CREATURES unveils how these fantasy creatures were derived from actual animals found on Earth. Airing the eve of the premiere of the sixth and final film, STAR WARS: EPISODE III-Revenge of the Sith, the special features interviews with the actors, animators and creature designers, including George Lucas and stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher. The program explores how Lucas transferred his breakthrough vision from script to the big screen and reveals the real-life origins of Lucas’ Star Wars menagerie.

Star Wars fans will recognize the distinctive voice of narrator Anthony Daniels, who portrays C-3PO. The only actor to star in all six Star Wars films, Daniels leads viewers through the stories of the films' creatures as shown in wall-to-wall footage from previous films. Audiences are also treated to footage from the highly anticipated Revenge of the Sith.

Info Wanted: ? The "cursedgame" "No Jar Jar" Phantom Edit?
Time
I started with the original DVD, ripped the 6GB of VOBs with DVD Decrypter. Then I used Neromix3 to convert the VOBs to one massive 6GB MPEG file. After that, I used TMPEG to cut JAR JAR & POD RACE out of the mpeg. I preserved the original chapters, but cutting was very difficult considering I kept the original AC-3 5.1 Surround EX Audio, which TMPEG will NOT allow you to listen to during the cutting process. I had to cut it a couple times, because the first time it came out crappy & I learned where I need to improve. Afterwards, I completed my second take (this all took about 5 hours) & created that lame-ass menu screen. I finally burned the Video_TS folder with Nero's "Burn DVD Files". That made my own personal copy. The only thing different I did to get the DVD to you on piratebay, etc. was to use Azureus to create a .torrent file and of course to label what you're downloading on the site itself.

Man, Star Wars fans are nice people! I hope this information helps. Good luck in your endeavors!

I can't wait to check it out the short run time really makes this sound neat

Superman II and Superman III extended (Released)

I highly recommend the restored international cut DVD of Superman II. I have a copy of it, and it has the soundtrack, making of, and subtitles that can pop up onscreen noting who shot what.

Superman II (1980) - "Restored International Cut"
Running Time: 146 min - This project began as a fan edit - The hope was to recut the film to make it feel more like Donner's "Superman the Movie." Before work could seriously begin, the extended TV broadcasts needed to be acquired to include some of those great Donner moments that didn't make it into the theatrical cut.

There would always be those hard-core fans that would want to see everything. So with the support of fans and friends from around the globe, the fan edit was put aside, and the business of restoring the entire film began. It took about 2 years to acquire the footage, and make it watchable, but the results were less than satisfying. The word once again went out for extended broadcasts, and both Bill Williams and Jonathan Hoyle answered the call. The choice wasn't easy, but after a lot of scrutiny, Bill's footage was the actual source chosen to improve RIC. But special thanks to Jonathan for sending his original master as well.

It's been said many times, this film will never win any quality awards. The footage supplied came from home recordings. So anyone expecting amazing detail and clarity will be sorely disappointed. But if you've seen any version of the extended broadcasts, you'll probably appreciate the way it's presented here. Great care has been taken to make the film as watchable as possible, no commercials, no subtitles, no station ID's. Thanks to the generous help of a very talented individual, even the audio got a polishing as well.

The final two disc RIC DVD set contains:

- The complete two hour, twenty-six minute version of the film.
- On-screen commentary track, detailing what footage Donner shot, and other RIC trivia.
- Long out of print documentary "The Making of Superman II."
- Long out of print "Superman II Soundtrack."
- "Lost Scene Gallery" - features pictures of Donner's unreleased work on Superman II.
- "Restoration Demonstration" - features before and after footage samples.
- Complete RIC artwork folder with printable Cover and Disc art in TIFF file format.

- 2 DVDr
- Fan Preservation
- Source - VHS recording of OTA broadcasts, Official NTSC and PAL VHS tapes
- Interactive Menus
- Fullscreen

Superman II and Superman III extended (Released)
Time
I do plan on posting as these DVD's as torrents over the next 2-6 months -

Most of these are VHS to DVD transfers and they are NOT the best in quality and I will do my best to post some VOB samples (NOT screen captures - unless you watch the movie frame by frame ) over the next week or some before I post the first release which will most likely be Superman (1978) - "The KCOP Television" Version.

QUESTION for Superman fans > Is the KCOP television a composite with both widescreen and fullscreen segments? I ask as the copy that I got has both and it was marked KCOP disc 1 and 2 when the trade came in.

For the Angrysun Releases marked BLAKRYPTO - I did not capture these but I've added matching menus and DVD-rom folders to each disc - most of these were sourced from VHS with a Set-top DVD recorder and they have no known creators as they are generational VHS copies (in some cases 4th maybe 5th gen copies)

Superman (1978) - "The Theatrical Television" Version
- Angrysun Release BLAKRYPTO-01
- 2 DVDr
- Fan Preservation
- Source - TiVo Series 2 to DVD extraction of AMC Satellite broadcast
- Widescreen

Superman (1978) - "The KCOP Television" Version
- Angrysun Release BLAKRYPTO-02 A/B
- 2 DVDr
- Fan Preservation
- Source - 3rd or 4th generation VHS recording of OTA broadcast OR Fan composite
- Basic Menu
- Fullscreen/Widescreen composite

Superman II (1980) - "Restored International Cut"
- 2 DVDr
- Fan Preservation
- Source - VHS recording of OTA broadcasts, Official NTSC and PAL VHS tapes
- Interactive Menus
- Fullscreen

Superman III (1983) - "The Extended Television" Version
- Angrysun Release BLAKRYPTO-03
- 1 DVDr
- Fan Preservation
- Source - 2nd or 3rd generation VHS recording of OTA broadcast
- Basic Menu
- Fullscreen

Superman IV (1987) - "The International" Version
- Angrysun Release BLAKRYPTO-04
- 1 DVDr
- Fan Preservation
- Source - 2nd or 3rd generation VHS recording of OTA broadcast
- Basic Menu
- Fullscreen

Now - I'm waiting for these to come in in trade... BUT I really don't think that they are coming anymore as it seems to be a trade gone bad... (so If you got em' let's trade )

Superman (1978) - "The International Salkind" Version
Superman II (1980) - "The International Salkind" Version
Superman II (1980) - "Green Cut" Version

Use the pulldown to select DVD (if it reads CD that is)

Now click the DVD-VIDEO option

SELECT the MULTISESSION tab - it should show NO

SKIP the ISO tab

SELECT the LABEL tab - Name the disc EditIV

SKIP Date

SKIP Misc.

SKIP Burn (for now)

NOW click the NEW button

this will launch the file browser

on the FAR left you will see a DVD icon with these folders under it.

DVDVideo1_DVD

O (DVD icon )

VIDEO_TS

Just drag and drop the EditDroid VIDEO_TS folder OVER the above shown VIDEO_TS folder

NOW just drag the CONTENT and JACKET_P folders into that field also so it will now look like this...
