HELP WANTED: Uploading Smudger's Clone Wars Edits
Time

EddieDean said:

Having checked the rules I believe this is an allowed post, though please don’t hesitate to remove it if I’ve missed something.

Hi folks,

There’ve been a few requests recently to make Smudger’s five Clone Wars edits available. The 1080p versions, which I have, are each about 10GB, so I can’t manage them with my Google Drive.

Can anyone advise on how I can upload them for free to somewhere so that I can share them (keeping them private and only available on request)? I can’t commit to regular monitoring of PMs so I’d prefer if someone who wants them can take ownership of hosting them.

I’m surprised no one has offered to upload these for you. If you can get them to me I’ll upload to the default site and also on zippyshare and possibly to Mega. PM me maybe you can upload one edit at a time to your gdrive and I’ll get them out there!

The DVD’s offer the best quality of them.

Thanks, I just bought a region 1 DVD version from ebay that’s arriving in 10 days. Private message me if you would like me to share the digital rip. Cheers!

Appreciate the offer but they are in my collection 😃 I hope you enjoy them!

Hello,

I found a guy selling a “1080p digitally remastered” version of the The Ewok Movies. EDIT This person has negative reviews on Better Business Bureau and on youtube which suggest to steer clear of him and his business.

On the ‘fredthebluraydog’ website.

I would also love to watch the Ewok movies in the highest quality possible, which I suspect would be DVD.

Question for those who have watched the films: Which version of the Ewok Movies is the highest quality? US DVD release? UK DVD release? Laserdisc?

Thanks for reading!

The DVD’s offer the best quality of them.

Well if you still have the cs6 install discs then you can probably still install it. Alternatively there is piracy… I know it’s frowned upon but since adobe doesn’t even give you the option to legally purchase encore, would pirating the software be any different than downloading despecialized or the 4k## series? I guess it’s just a moral decision.

I would be of the opinion that yes, it’s almost a preservation. But there are a few issues the older Encore is not compatible with Win7 or Win10 so you’d have to reinstall XP which is also no longer supported. I’ll load up the old back up HD to see if I still have the install files for CS6 - I hated the learning curve so I stuck with TMPGenc simple but quick and easy but my menus did lack the WOW factor.

Help: looking for... all the audio books. Any resources here?
Time

These are your best resources =

https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_audio_productions

https://www.audible.com/series/Star-Wars-Audiobooks/B01DJPPUQG

https://www.penguinrandomhouseaudio.com/blog/star-wars-canon-audiobook-timeline/

FYI - This site is not a clearing house for illicit files or links to them, if the items are OOP or NLA they may be preserved and if they are, you could find information about them here.

Good luck!

8-Bit Original Trilogy Logo Art
Time

I recreated the forums 8-Bit Death Star logo so I could add it to the back of the cover, I was not sure which font was used as it looks like a custom font (the G is way different from the fonts I have).

It’s a layered PSD at 4954 x 1500px with a print size of 16"x5"

Link to the PSD for use by others = https://drive.google.com/open?id=1UoMNy16SX-A19oAnYP9CkSff6A8AbfND or https://mega.nz/#!3ttURa7Z!tzTHXc37o4ouMP5AEbmLyfhpNT8SzRr0ZZuog_CH6Wg

I too made my own Special Edition of the Holiday Special.
I used the “Broadcast Master” copy that’s out there and blew it up to 720p.
I gathered a few extras for the disc as well, a commentary track that I found by the B-Movie podcast as well as various clips of the cast and crew discussing making the thing as well as the commercials and the CBS promo.

When I figure out how to upload the ISO up to trackers I’ll do it.

I can upload this to the squiggly spooge if you’d like.

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (Navajo Limited Edition) Preservation DVD Cover
Time

Hey there gang!

I kinda recreated the cover for the “Navajo Limited Edition” of A New Hope and as the DVD is out of print I was not able to locate an official cover other than a few snap shots on google and a youtube video review where the reviewer holds it in his hands and shows the front and back.

So without much to go on I figured it would be best to change the rear blurb and focus on the true stars of this edition.

COVER HAS BEEN CORRECTED

For the custom crawl, you may want to talk to the Krieg der Sterne Team (or at least Laserschwert). They may have some scripts or templates you can use to re-create the crawl without having to re-invent the wheel. That way you could also create a 1977-style Navajo crawl instead of an SE-style Navajo crawl, which would be more appropriate for a Despecialized version anyway, although not the same as the DVD version.

CatBus - You are brilliant! once I’m ready I sketched out the plan I’ll be doing some PM’s

If you’re interested in trying to do the Navajo Greedo subs in the 77 theatrical style, I can try to help. I did a custom font that closely matches the 77 style, but I don’t think it’d have all the needed diacritics, so some Photoshop work may be required after the root characters are done.

I gotta ask… what’s this mean?

  1. Yes, please but I need to sort out my plans and figure out whom to contact. I’ve been off the forum for so long I’m still playing catch up. Once I finalize the plan I will create a thread and contact you. THANKS!

The quality isn’t the best, but you can see the back of the Navajo DVD cover in this youtube video.

Maybe you can ask them to take a photo?

Great Idea!

[edited] I just watched the video and was able to take in the cover but after really kicking it around I decided to only somewhat recreate the cover as this has moved into an actual OOP preservation now. So a custom cover with an insert explaining this edition more fully would be more appropriate.[end editing]

In the mean time I working on recreating it and just finished the cover a few hours ago, spine and back are next once I know what they look like!
