- Actual Runtime is 2:32:22 it just ran in a 4 hour block (with ads and such)

And wasn't there some talk about an ABC-cut of "Chamber of Secrets" as well? What's the film's runtime there?

- Yep, I finished it that on on May 23rd and the actual runtime is 2:47:41

Another question on the ABC edit... what's the quality like?

- It's fair, if you read back into the post you'll see the source and capture method

Is it regular pan and scan or was it broadcast in OAR in HD?

- It;s pan and scan and I have no idea how it was broadcast in HD (I have a 19" Linytron TV so HD is about 5-6 years away for us)

I also would like to to second the run time question...

- Actual Runtime is 2:32:22

did he add in more deleted scenes that weren't available to you?

- I'm not sure what you mean be "did he add in" or "scenes that weren't available to you?"... But if you mean "he" as in Chris Columbus then yes he did add in more scenes and being it was his movie he had a whole lot more avaliable footage then ANY of us - These can be considered the "EXTENTED DIRECTORS CUTS" and there were rumors that they MAY release official and proper Director's Cuts but who knows.

ALSO, as a little FYI - ADM's "edits" are more or less reconstructions of the TV cuts as that is what inspired him to do them.

March 23 2006 - I am halted after work is returned to an earlier project of mine - finally completing my Superman 4 Recut in workprint rough cut form. I send the disc to Rikter who replies it's got potential but he never speeks of it again. No one seems interested in the project so I shelved it for a later date hoping that I can generate some buzz after Superman Returns is released.. I will keep my original recut idea and finsh it someday if anyone cares. BTW!! Rikter now has the only copy of my rough cut as my computer crashed and I lost it all. I still have to get a copy from him. I hope he didn't throw it away.. oops!! I mean it was my first edit job learning it all from a OCP and a ADigitalman thread as to how to cut movies. There help was great but I am years away.

- I still have the rough-cut of Superman (I think you did not reply to my email & I never spoke of it again as I've not heard from you since) but I'm also still waiting for the Waterworld DVD's you were to send me MONTHS ago which I had started to gatehr source materials for the covers and menus but have since deleted them as I've still not heard from you - but I think you got someone else on this right?

Again, like FF this is a hobby and is always third in my life (Family, Datsuns then movie projects) and I always will put my projects ahead of others but most important - I usually do not read the forums or PM's (as most of you know already), I very rarely read any of the threads here on the OT AND I honestly only read my emails maybe once a week and I respond to them even slower (hey, I like the real world - OFF the internet that is), I only use forums to post about my projects and uploads anymore as there is just WAY TOO much to keep up with anymore.

ANYWAY, if you need that rough-cut drop me an email (not PM) and I'll burn it off my drive for you

Seeing the 'Rise Of The Cybermen' double-episode in the current series made me want to see 'The Tenth Planet' from the Hartnell years.
I've been looking into this as well. Too young to remember the Hartnell period, but I had the Target paperback of The Tenth Planet. Unfortunately, episode 4 has been lost, so it's unlikely to ever be seen again. Eps. 1-3 may be available as bootlegs, but I've not seen them.

Did you miss that I'm downloading all the Hartnell episodes? It even includes a reconstruction of the lost 4th episode! (s04e02p4 The Tenth Planet (reconstruction)) - I'll hook you up with the episode once the 34gig download is complete!

I might have talked a few local friends into helping me DL the episodes so I hope that I can get them all sometime this year!

BLADE RUNNER: The Unauthorized OFF-WORLD Box Set (Released)
Time
Well, I just started to sort all the BR stuff that I have so the set is now underway... The 1080i to DVD is done I just need to add an isolated score (or something like that) to it and I will be doing the Criterion transfer with an ALTERNATE score also, I think I now have all the known soundtarcks (retail to bootlegs) and a ton of extras to be added to the set. I did have to drop a few things from the project but I should have a better idea of how the sets going to turn out over the the next week or so.

ANYWAY....

THANKS so much to all those that have contributed!!!!

This project is now a go!

'Decline of Western Civilization Pt II: The Metal Years' (Released)

This film was available on VHS. I'm not sure if it was ever available on LD or not.

For those who haven't heard of it, it was a documentary about the heavy metal scene in LA in the 80s. I believe that the licensing of all the songs is what prevented this from getting a DVD release. The director, Penelope Spheeris (of Wayne's World 'fame') said that she had bought all the rights to all three of her "Decline" documentaries and would be releasing them on DVD.... but that interview was back in 1998 when she released the third film and there's been no news since.

There are VHS dubs of rental copies that are on eBay, but that's not the quality I'd like to see. So, does anybody know anything about this movie? Anything about whether it was released on LD? Anything? Any hope of preserving this?

THanks

Penelope Spheeris was on the Henry Rollins Show about a month ago, I THOUGHT I heard her say that the DVD's are coming out later this year .....

Originally posted by: Yoda Is Your FatherThe idea of Doctor Who, however, is not cheesy, it's a great concept, and it has the potential to be one hell of a serious sci-fi show, but then it would be just another American sci-fi series, and not Doctor Who.

And it has been since 1963 and I hope they keep regenerating in the UK!

I also wish that I had some back-up downloading the complete series from the torrents, I'm getting the William Hartnell seasons right now, I'm at 57.7% with 195 hours left and I still have 7 Doctors to go!

Is Dune a good movie?

I was just wondering if the movie is worth watching?

1. Read the Books - MUCH better (the original 6, then if you really must - read all the later books)
2. The SciFi Channel films, I loved them and really think that they tell the story told in the books (more or less)
3. The David Lynch film is GREAT for what it is but is a re-telling of the Dune saga, yet I feel it's a great story all on it's own

Rikter, do you think this will get bumped up towards the top of your release ladder, or make it onto it at all? Defintely looking forward to this.

- If it ever comes my way, I've been waiting for a while for this one now (seems I've been dropped from all the PIF's lately) so unless it shopws up I doubt I'll be a part of this project.
