Hi there everybody!

I just wanted to give everybody a heads up on my TR47 'Return of the Jedi' DVDr status - AFTER I posted that TR47 was not willing to replace a bad disc he Private Emailed me this -

TR47
Padawan Learner -

Well, it seems you're not as anti pirate as we all thought. I just found you on ebay (angrymomproductions) and you most definately sell for profit. Here's the deal: If you want a working ROTJ disc , I want you to delete your ad from sell.com completely. I don't care if you want to sell the set, but do it elsewhere. I'll also keep your ebay items out of the public view on this board so you can keep your masquerade going. Let me know if this sounds like a fair trade off.

SO I'm forced to out myself to you guys here on the forums.............

I freely admit that...

1st. Angrymomproductions is my brother using our Mom's account

- If he wants to sell them that's his deal. BUT again notice all the super low prices (I made him lower his prices), I don't have time for eBay with a full time job and 2 kids and IF I were to sell them on ebay it would be $12 but I do NOT want to sell on eBay as I would NEVER have the time to fill 1000+ orders a week burning DVDr's at 1 and 2x!

2nd. I do have a set on sell.com - it's not even the same set as TR47's and I've only sold 2 copies for $12 just like here on the forums.

(sure it's cool to make a few bucks but $25 just for 4 plain DVDr's - I include the PRINTED covers and the keepcase for almost that very same price!!) BUT this TR47 person is asking me to STOP selling IF I want a replacement.. wait a second DUDE, that sounds like extortion.

AND

3rd. I NEVER said I was anti-pirate as TR47 would put it.....

- I'm just anti HIGH PRICE and DARK DEALERS = folks selling DVDr sets for $50 or MORE - which I solved here on the forums if I sold on eBay I would solve it there as well and don't this TR47 person have their name and email address all over www.prillaman.net? - I've also burned quit a few sets FOR FREE if you sent me blank DVDr's. ONLY a few of us have done that. I've also posted BITTORRENTS of these DVDr's AND the Phantom Edit which i hosted for 2 weeks again for FREE.

I would not have posted the name TR47 at ALL - but he failed to reply to my emails PRIVATE and using the PM here (about 4 of em') requesting a replacement disc almost two week ago now. EVEN after he refused to send me a copy of his set until AFTER I send him a replacement for a BAD disc that I sent him (I might add I sent him a total of 7 DVDr's for his 3) - I just felt I deserved the same FAST service from TR47 as his paying customers.

SO since I'm now outted on sell.com

I'm SO sorry guys - Yes I do have a set on Sell.com and there it will stay.

And to make amends for this AWFUL post and my bad form -

I'm gonna now offer the 3 disc DVDr set for ONLY $9.99 SHIPPED anywhere in the US and $14 ANYWHERE in the world.

Again I'm sorry if I've mislead anybody on the forums or at sell.com

Hey there gang,

TR47 has not respoded to my request for a working copy of Return of the Jedi (guess he don't want me giving them away for $12 vs. his $25 )- ANYWAY - Mine skips around REAL bad on the last 30 minutes of the movie. SO I really REALLY need a working copy of this DVDr -- I also need a copy of the TR47 extras disc to be sure it's not the same as my Anamorphic DVD sets extras disc.

I will give ANYBODY 3 DVDr's from my list in trade for a WORKING copy of the JEDI disc from the TR47 set - we can work out trade details on the extras disc

digitalfreaknyc you down for a trade?

THANKS!

E-mail me if you want to trade!

Nice job on those covers. They look great. But I hope you don't mind some constructive criticism - I'm assuming that you wrote the summaries. You spelled "Millennium" wrong on all of the covers. Two n's, not one. Also, when using the word "it" as a possessive, there is no apostrophe, ie "its" not "it's."

On the Star Wars cover there's no such word as "amist." I think you meant "amidst."

On the Jedi cover you spelled "attack" wrong. It also appears you have used the word "long" instead of "along."

No offense intended. Like I said, this is nice work, and I may like to use it. I just always notice grammatical errors, and these stick out. Not that my grammar is always perfect, of course.

Scott if your down to fix the text and email it to me - I still have the PSD's - I in turn will send you the correct cover + ALL the cover that I have on a CD

I'll be posting them in a week or two - I just got a new house and I've ben fixing it up for this last few weeks and staying with friends SO I have DIAL UP!!!!

It takes like 1 hour to upload 3-4 MB's!

But once the cable guy gets to my new place in a few weeks I'll be posting some of the covers that I have

OR I may seek donations to get an image hosting site as...

I have about 60 STAR WARS DVD covers! - OVER 300MB of files

I've collected all the covers I've found and made about 30 of them myself.

no word of a lie... it looks exactly like a regular dvd cover would... semi glossy and all... thats what i suggest anyway... its about $1 a copy and you really get your money's worth...

That's SO AWESOME!

What covers did you end up printing?

A LASERJET printer is BEST and I do also suggest getting it done at a shop if possible - IF you can find a printer that will print covers for bootleg movies.

Hi there guys!

The question about the CD lables is a GREAT one!

There has been much debate about this on the internet - do a google search and you'll find a buch of it.

I do not use labels on my DVDr's as I have had a few fail in the past - BUT when I do label them I use FELLOWES CD labels from Wal-Mart you get 100 matte labels for $14.

I have tried some cheaper labels and found that most just suck cheap glues and the peel off.

I would suggest using the MediaFACE II software that they suggest in the Fellowes package and it's free from their site - don't use cheap lables as the GLUE bites!

ALSO NEVER put a labeled CD or DVD in a AUTOMOTIVE CD/MP3 or DVD player - the heat inside the player will melt ANY glue!

I've lost a Sony CD X-MP80 cd MP3 Player due to labels

I hope this also helps!

LoL, Rikter won't miss a chance to sell his DVDs...

Actually I look for trades first

I have all the titles that were once hard to find and ones that honest fans like us were getting jacked on eBay for - I mean $60 - $100 for 4 DVDr's - Fans are still getting Jacked/Robbed/Hoodwinked and ripped off on eBay this very minute Like this poor hack - but I think I solved that here on these forums.

So if anyone gots some cool DVDr's they wanna trade for one of my Star Wars DVDr's hit me up -

sweyland - Thanks for the review!

Printing Star Wars DVD covers
Time
Hi there,
I print my covers all the time with my HP 880c printer and I think they come out awesome!

I've hope this helps ya out.

First -
Be sure that what ever cover your trying to print is the right size first, the correct size is 3240 x 2188 pixels and 10.793" x 7.293 at 300 DPI - you can resize what ever cover you may have to this size but IF the cover was sized correctly it should not alter the images appearance.

Second -
You need the right paper. To print the cover you need to use LEGAL Size paper that's the 8.5 x 14 size stuff REGULAR paper works just fine for DVD covers (with brightness of 92+) and don't be fooled into buying pre-made covers since you get 500 sheets in a package VS. 10 or 20 covers in a kit!

Third -
The best software for printing covers is Adobe Photoshop CS it's pricey but it's worth it you can also use IrfanView, DVD Cover Print or Paint Shop Pro.

Fourth -
Setttings for the final print

In your programs print settings (I use Photoshop so these are the settings for Photoshop)

Select Print with Preview from the file button

Select Page Set Up

Paper = LEGAL
Source = Automatically set
Orientation= Landscape

Click OK

THEN click Show more options

Under this new field make sure the pulldown reads OUTPUT

then click on both Corner Crop Marks and Center Crop Marks
(this will create little printed marks so you can cut the cover PERFECT)

Click OK

Then when the XP's Print pop-up appears

Select Properties

under the Paper/Quality tab

Paper Source: Automatically select
Media: Plain Paper

Quality Settings: NORMAL - Sure you can select Best but you could print 2 covers in the same time and with the same ink used!
Color: Color

Now select the Layout tab

Orientation: Landscape

Click OK

Then Click OK again and your cover will print just fine

Fifth -
To cut your cover NEVER use scissors! - Get yourself a nice smooth cutting surface that can take a beating from a razor blade

I use a piece of faux marble counter topping - I had the guys a LOWES cut me a 18x23 inch piece
I also use a metal ruler and standard one sided razor blades (the kind that comes scrappers)

Your done at this point so stuff it in your keepcase

OR you can head over to KINKOS at 3am and try to talk them into printing them on the Fiery Laser Printer!
I managed to do this twice now - at the time they charged $3 a print - I dumped $30

I've included templete sizes for DVD covers below OR if anybody needs the perfect PSD template click there -> My Template - this template even has all the markers built in!

I hope this helps!

Rikter

All keepcases use the same size cover for the front and back (1535 x 2188 pixels), the only thing that changes is the spine width.

OH yea,
I'm gonna capture my 35mm reels of the original trilogy that I bought... NO, wait Found in an hidden room at my Great Great Grandmas house (She used to babysit lil' George Lucas you know). THEN I'm gonna take the original STEREOPHONIC sound and digitally remaster the audio into a Digital 9.1 MPEG and a 7.1 DTS soundtrack (The Yamaha RX-Z9 offers 9.1 - REALLY I'm not joking!) and then I'll burn it to a 4-D Holographic DVD

REALLY now children (or 30+ years old men in PJ's in mom's basement that is )

SURE it's cool to spend all kinds of time capturing and converting video I do this myself with my old VHS tapes (parties, my old skate videos and of course my kids!) all the time but to go ON and ON about how you did it and why you did this and that to improve the quality........

Enough is enough - I feel that EVERYBODY should just STOP trying to better everyone else by trying to get the best capture UNTIL the Dual Layer DVD writers are out.

Then at that point capture away!!!

I have like the largest Star Wars movie collection around and when it comes time to REALLY watch Star Wars (you know; popcorn, a tall iced coke, snacks and a few friends)

- I use my REAL and VERY cool Trilogy Laser Discs. Yes that's right I watch the Laser Discs!

And I even get to use the digital PCM audio as my player has an AC3 (optical digital output) out and can output the REAL THX/Dolby Surround signal once sent to my Onkyo 501 and decoded into DTS Neo:6 a process in which a true matrixed stereo signal is processed into 6.1 w/advanced sub-band signal processing= why bother with Pro-logic II and bootlegs?

The resulting audio track sounds WAY AWESOME and I also think that the Laser Discs sound BETTER then the Episode 1 or 2 DVD's
- sure they have real DD-EX 6.1 BUT some scenes just sound so fake, hollow, tinny and way too loud in the rear channels

PROPS to all those that have captured the movie and shared them with all of us.... You all have done a very wonderful job, be it a letterboxed 4:3 or an Anamorphic 1.78:1 widescreen!

BUT

I'll tell you, NO ONE has a DVD version that looks or sounds as GREAT as the real Laser Discs... Nope, not, no one, nobody does and it's not gonna happen PERIOD.
