STAR WARS: The Torrents thread
Time
FYI

I'm in the process of uploading the TR47 set at this time so my Bandwidth is dedicated to these torrents at this time.

As to your question about the torrents...

Well, I'm still seeding - Star Wars - The Holiday Special - Angrysun Edition , And the TR47 SW, Empire and Jedi now

In addition to the above I also host various Star Wars covers on my private site (my own as well as some created others) and have taken many requests for my custom Star Wars covers and disc art - I've been dedicating alot of my own time (and my wifes personal time - WHOM I might add - I truly love!! - Let's all thank her for all the support and help she's givin' me in my Star Wars ventures! I LOVE YOU BABY!! ) and energies into this site and creating custom covers for those that have requested them. (along with helping others get these films)

I had posted this thread with the intention of sharing these torrents and I will continue to seed them as long as I can.
This is a cool way for you guys to have an alternate way of getting these wonderful titles for free and avoid having to pay upto $30 for these DVD's. Sure I could just post weak small 700mb Divx or VCD files but I want you and all the other members of this forum to have the best possible source for these awesome movies. (I host the actual Fan created DVDr's) PLEASE read through the entire forums and I'm sure you'll find many sources for Star Wars titles.

EVERYONE - Please this is not a request thread - If someone wants to start a request thread for torrents please JOIN a BITTORRENTS message board or forum like Supernova.

I've been a very active member on these boards and have really enjoyed all the great topics and threads and I will continue to do so for a long time but please let's not let this tread turn into a request board.

I ASSURE you all when I post ANYTHING this forum will be the SECOND to know!
(well Myspleen really is first )

I'm only one impassioned fan among a MILLION.........

I can only do SO much guys so please be patient - is this not the way of the Jedi?

May the Force be with all ya scruffy nerf hearders.........

MY TORRENTS

Sorry to disrupt this long-standing topic, but direct links to downloads are not permitted. I'm also moving this thread to the new Preservation Forum.

Info: OT Bootleg DVDs
Time
I know that I posted this in the other thread BUT - JUST in case...........

(not everyone reads ALL the threads SO......)

- It looks like this is the VERY same set that is on the www.prillaman.net website

This is an ASIAN created DVD silvers or Durian's (real pressed DVD's) bootleg set not created by TR47

Check out this site to find out more about DVD Silver's/Durian's.

I have about 3 links to different sites that sell this set.

THEY do come with cover art and cases - all cost $32.88 - It seems that there is ONE source but MANY re-sellers

I hope this helps everybody!

This was posted as the TR47 set so I had to cover the TR47 logo I made - You see I had one design for each set, that way they would be way different BUT I just made both cover types for bot sets - SO I had to fix the picture instead of printing another set ;p

This is a sample of the covers that are in the big rar file just below
http://home.comcast.net/~newmexicoufo/LD_-__Anamorphic_Version_1_-_1.jpg

It can also be called the ink-saver set!

Use the below link to down load - they are in a RAR file, I think that RAR can compress a lot tighter so that means a faster download for dial-up users

TRUE - If I can find some blank dual layer media - Maybe I will redo the TR47 set with all the extras!!

LIKE - The Making Of Star Wars as told by C-3PO and R2-D2 + MORE!!!

Since the review really did not say the video was ANY better - I WILL redo the set with a TON of EXTRAS!!

All I need now is blank dual layer media................

But notice that the review say that there is NO need to update to the dual layer set!

They must be encoded as CBR at 9200 - 9500 kbits/sec - not VBR that's the only reason it can fill up a dual layer disc - I may be wrong but I think this may be it.

"Both versions represent good bootlegs, and from what I understand both are available for $30 (which is a maximum reasonable price that I set rather arbitrarily some time ago for bootleg sets like this). Anyone who already has TR47's set should not worry about needing to upgrade – the differences in the two are generally subtle and I certainly wouldn't consider them worth the $30 investment. These dual-layer discs are better packaged: while TR47 has been including a CD-R full of different cover art files for some time, you still end up with bare and unlabeled DVD-R's that you have to find a case for and print covers for. The cover art used for these discs doesn't match the covers and spines for Episodes I and II, but it's not really a glaring difference. It might even be useful to have a clearly different spine layout if you plan to pick up the official releases and set them both on the shelf. In the end, I would recommend either version to someone who is determined to have a DVD copy of the original theatrical version of the trilogy. Casual fans are still best off picking up the official release, which will look and sound better than any bootleg (they're even re-mixing the soundtrack for at least A New Hope and possibly all three using the original audio stems) and will arrive less than three months from now."

BUT I wonder if the $30 includes the covers and cases?

I'm sorry to continue to stray from the thread topic and I PROMISE I will stop after this but this IS in defence of a Custom Cover that was called out

I noticed that Cerbero's TR47 covers are still somewhat in error. While the covers say Dolby Stereo Surround Sound, in reality the TR47 discs have 2-channel PCM (uncompressed Pulse Code Modulation) audio only.

YES the TR47 set does have a 2-Channel PCM audio track - THIS IS true.

BUT If the PCM audio is a TRUE copy of the Definitive Collection Laserdiscs THEN the audio IS DOLBY STEREO that is encoded with Dolby Surround. (read the back of the either the Definitive, Faces or the Special Widescreen Edition)

'Dolby Stereo is the name given to the four-channel surround sound developed by Dolby Laboratories and introduced into movie theaters in the 70's. It employed a matrix encoding scheme called Dolby Surround which recorded four channels of information on two channels. The two channels are decoded into L, R, Center and Surround upon playback. The center channel is recorded identically on the left and right channels.'*

Information is from this site

SO the covers are correct

These are the way the movies always should have been. I don't agree with every little change. But how can anyone want to watch the movie with matte lines around the ships, lame dead slum cities, hidden creatures. Same story, same acting, same action, better effects. I am hear because someone hear needs to defend Lucas and his superior versions. Why even discuss something if everyones gonna agree with you. Its more better to have individuels with different views. This site needs more people like me.

Dude,

I LOVE the Special Editions - I've never once slammed them and I WAY support the added scenes - Just watch the Droids cartoon or the animated portion of The Holiday Special - you'll see little flying probebots with the Stormtroopers THESE were added in the SE's SO yes I support the fact that GL said he WANTED to make them this way in the first place - HELL yea - I'm down with ANY new coming additions and seeing them restored with 21st century CG. HELL yea.

BUT

I also want to watch and enjoy the trilogy the way I saw it in the theaters IT's WAY more then just the moviw - I was there when they came out I recall watching them on TV for the first time or when my Dad bought the CED Video Disc of STAR WARS back 1982 then EVERY release afterwords. It has memories of sunday afternoons enjoying home popped pop-corn and Coke in a bottle.

There are SEVERAL reasons that he should release the originals on DVD some personal others just for the sake posterity.

I do intend on buying the new DVD's of the NEW SPECIAL EDITION EDITIONS (or what the heck are we gonna call them??) once they're out and on sale.

But until then - THIS forum is for the PRESERVATION of the Original Star Wars as it was released before the Special Editions is in not?

May the Farce continue....

Well, maybe your equipment needs a tune-up, because its not that bad.

LD image quality is roughly comparable to standard 16mm film, VHS is roughly comparable to 8mm film. There are no home video formats comparable to 35mm or 70mm film.

The pulse-FM data structure on an LD (unlike ordinary VHS/Beta), is defined to hold all the information present in the composite video signal. Depending on source material and the transfer to disc, LD is above live TV broadcast quality: For NTSC, this is 425 TVL (luminance lines horizontally for 3/4 of the screen width) and about 482 scan lines, compared to 330x482 for broadcast. For PAL, the numbers are 450x560 and 400x560, respectively.

Compare this to 240x482 for good VHS (recorded, pre-recorded is probably less). Only recently have Super-VHS approached LD capability, and ED-Beta has gone even further with its resolution of 525x482. Of course, pre-recorded material is not widely available in these VCR formats. Even using S-VHS/ED-Beta to tape off-air still only reaches the 330x482 of the broadcast signal (400x560 in PAL countries).

Compared to LD, all consumer tape formats also fall short in time-base stability, chroma resolution, video noise and audio fidelity.

Although the video signal-to-noise ratio (s/n) appears to be about the same for LD and VCR hardware, it is probably not the same for mass-produced pre-recorded material. The LD process (casting or stamping) does not degrade the signal from master to copy. The tape process, magnetic contact printing, does.

All LD players have time-base-correction; mechanical, optical, analog electronic or digital. TBC eliminates the horizontal line jitter and color errors common on tape.

Information Source - RiK

So you really think a tune-up will help?

Word to the soild hard facts.........

VHS sucks.

Sure we will, the minute that the ORIGINAL TRILOGY Trilogy ir realesed on DVD - NOT the Special Editions I want them JUST like the Laserdiscs - NO special added scenes or any of the "this is how I see them now" crap.
