How about a game of Japanese Chess, i.e. Shogi? Now playing Shogi4
Time

Very well. I have the game planned out a few turns in advance, as I figured my doom was spelt just as well if I moved my rook out of the way. However, I didn't take into account the possibility of a well-dropped rook ending it all very quickly, and I now see a possible way out (out being a lengthier game).

I think you're the clear winner, but for the sake of playing a more interesting game:

The Thread Where You Wax Rhapsodic about Your Book Collection
Time

I have about 25 books of my own, plus a bunch of Equinox magazines from the late '80s and early '90s. My family has a decent-sized library of a few thousand books, however, of which I have barely scratched the surface and likely never will get much further. I'd list my books, but there are three and a half provinces between us at the moment.

They include several Star Wars visual guide-type books, four bibles (NASB, NRSV, a Gideon New Testament, and a French "Version Officielle Liturgique), a Qur'an, Dune, and a couple bird field guides (I'm a bit of a birder and have a checklist going right now, with sixty-odd species checked off so far).

Yeah, I'm living in Québec until the end of July, and doing everything in French. I've had the advantage of being able to work for my dad without officially being hired, which allowed me to start young and without any sort of job application, and then meant that I got paid quite well for my age, since I was able to start and stop working without ever having to reapply for the job or find a new one.

I don't see this ending very well for me:

I turned 16 in March. I'm not working now for multiple reasons, the main ones being that I'm not really fluent enough in French to get a job (I can write well enough, but I still get tongue-tied trying to speak it...) and it would wear me out since it's difficult enough to do all my schoolwork in a second-language. :P

Since I likely won't get back to Alberta until mid-August, I'll miss any chance to work in the summer. After that, however, whether I work for my dad as I have in the past or find another job is dependent on where my dad works (at home like he did this year, or in his regular role in the family business). I don't have a driver's license yet, so my choices will be relatively limited in the near future.

Star Wars: Rogue One - * Non Spoiler Discussion Thread *
Time

I just interpret that (all of the Star Wars canon, actually, when I care enough about it) as being a retelling of the "actual" events. Thus, the prequels tell the real story of Anakin Skywalker's rise and fall, but they're just an adaption and are no more accurate than, say, Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. The original trilogy is closer to what "really" happened, however.
