Poor guy, you aren't giving him any room for simply making a silly mistake. :)

I have noticed no difference. The site was down for well over an hour beginning at about 10:20 MST.
I tried to move last night, but the silly site went down as soon as I clicked on this page. :(

The change is small enough that I don't think it will affect the game too much, so I'm OK with making the change, just this once. :) My first move remains the same.
March 11:
1425 B.C.: Pharaoh Thutmose III's death according to the Low Chronology of the 18th Dynasty.
A.D. 537: Rome is besieged by Goths.
A.D. 843: The veneration of icons is officially reinstated at the Hagia Sophia in Constantinople.

Even if they put music up front, nobody will be able to hear it, as the audience will be going nuts anyway. :)
There is that certain something about the way the existing six movies start. You hear the percussion of the Fox fanfare several seconds before you see anything at all. It's a signal to the audience that "the movie is about to start." It's deliciously old-fashioned.
Part of me still hopes it happens....
Me too. Star Wars was one of the first, if not the first, movies that I watched with the Fox Fanfare, and I have associated it with Star Wars ever since (when I was younger, I was surprised to see it in another movie, because I had thought it was only at the beginning of Star Wars). So it would be nice to see it. Maybe someone will stick it in there in a fanedit. :)
Well, there obviously wasn't an update, so please don't make fun of me too much (after all, I've never experienced an update before). ;)
It was beautiful today and yesterday! The snow is melting and it's sunny. I'm enjoying it while it lasts. We usually get a snowstorm at the end of March or beginning of April and I think there's another cold spell coming up.
March 9:
A.D. 1497: Nicolaus Copernicus makes his first recorded astronomical observation.
A.D. 1562: Kissing in public becomes punishable by death in Napoli (Naples).
A.D. 1822: Charles Graham of New York patents false teeth.
March 10:
241 B.C.: The First Punic War ends with the Romans sinking the Carthaginian fleet in the battle of the Aegates Islands.
A.D. 418: Jews are banned from public office in the Roman Empire.
A.D. 1876: Alexander Graham Bell makes the first telephone call (to Thomas Watson).
I thought we had an update because I saw sticky notes beside some threads, and I hadn't seen that before. I figured out that it wasn't pretty quickly, but I posted the thread before then. :\

How did I not see that? :(
I really need to work on not always moving my king back all the time. Almost every game of Ito Shogi we've played has ended with a drop behind my other pieces, moving my king to the wrong spot, and a drop that traps my king. It was fair though, and I wouldn't take my move back even if you offered it.
What bugs me though is that I could have checkmated you in two moves had I avoided that. I was just waiting for a chance when I didn't have to worry about your RC so much and my king was more safe.
To be honest, I thought the pieces worked well as they were this game. However, we can try a weaker bishop if you want. I think the game demonstrated that a good, fun game can be played with the set-up and pieces we have now, but that doesn't mean it can't be improved (I think we could be getting close to a finalized version though).
I also noticed that the SC hardly got any use. However, you have to remember that when we played before, the SC was also a GC, so it was able to jump pieces no matter what its value was. Additionally, we were allowing drops with either value facing up. That allowed the silver cannon to be dropped onto the board, but now only the reverse chariot can be dropped. So it isn't just the removed pieces that have made it a less-frequently used piece, but also the altered drop rules and the merger of the L/RC with the GC/SC. I think the piece itself is definitely fine as it is.
As for drops, I kind of liked that only the demoted value could be dropped, but we could try another game with the original rule. If we did so, I'd like to make that the only change, so we can better compare the two. Thus far, we have not played more than one game with the same set-up and I'd like to play the next game without any major changes.
I was surprised at myself this game as well. :) I analyzed the board a bit more and was able to accurately predict many of your moves. I think I've become a lot more conscious of the paratrooping aspect as well and am not as surprised by your drops as I used to be. Now that I'm paying more attention to that aspect, I try to defend my pieces against both your pieces in hand and on the board. That awareness of the drops is probably what allowed me to do so well.
So are you OK with playing another game and only changing the drop rules to allow either value to be dropped face up?

I edited my last post, in case you missed it.

And yes, our boards are in agreement.
Too bad I didn't think of that...I knew your computer had frozen. :(

If it would have affected your move, feel free to take it (SCx22) back and do something else.
No wonder. :D I didn't take a very close look, so if it had a caption or anything, I didn't see it.
It's pointless though. I disagree with creating discontinuity just because. If George and others want to change someone's origin story, or break continuity with a novel's plot, then that's their prerogative and I'm fine with that. But altering small details for no apparent reason just seems silly to me and I think it would be better to go with whatever was there previously.
If that pic of her with Chewie is recent, she's looking pretty good, considering how she looked just a few months ago.
The fact that he just changed a silly name for pretty much no reason is what makes it annoying and stupid. Why bother? There's already a name for it, so why must it be changed?
Assuming the Deinonychus is named after the dinosaur, you only spelled it right the last time. :)
You're right, I'm sorry. I moved your queen instead of your king, I guess...
