I'm sorry about it (not really).

I looked back on the last few turns, and it doesn't look like there were any really advantageous moves to make. All of them were worse than this one, so moving my DH earlier wouldn't have helped me much.

April 2:
A.D. 999: Gerbert of Aurillac is elected as Pope--the first from France.
A.D. 1453: Sultan Mehmet II begins his siege of Constantinople, which is the first successful one on the city.
A.D. 1800: The first performance of Beethoven's first symphony.
A.D. 1902: The first movie theatre opens (in Los Angeles).
That's good! I'm not generally a fan of electric guitar, but that's one piece I liked. :)

No, I wasn't trying to be merciful. I wanted to get my gold general close to my king and didn't realize how quickly you'd be able to corner my DH. I can't say I tried very hard to protect it though....
That sucks, ferris.
I have something less serious to complain about. I obtained my learner's license back in June, but I can count the number of times I've driven since then (excluding parking jobs) on my fingers. Our van broke down at the very end of June, so I only got to drive it once, and then I couldn't drive the new van. And I can't drive my dad's business van because of its insurance policy which requires me to have a driver's license and be at least 25. I guess I'll just have to wait until I'm able to take a driver's course.... :P
There you go. That's a better choice than my proposed moves and I see no way out for my dragon horse.

April 1:

A.D. 1778: A New Orleans businessman invents the "$" sign.
A.D. 1826: The internal combustion engine is patented.
A.D. 1924: The Royal Canadian Air Force is formed.
A.D. 1960: The first weather satellite is launched.

Post 45, turn 13.
Yes, I always prefer to win by checkmate, but you do still have a chance to regain equal footing with me, which is partly why I want to keep going. Let's see if you figure it out without reading my post. :)

I finally have a good chance of winning and you steal it from me! ;)
It would be nice if you kept playing, but if you really don't want to... You could try getting your generals up behind your pawns and advance your whole line forward so that you get rid of my promoted bishop. That could be risky, especially if I make good moves.
You may consider this cheating, but I'll offer a couple suggestions to help get you in a better position.
For starters, get your gold general in 3c. That will thwart my planned offense. Then move the pawn on dh that is currently under threat from my dragon horse (or whatever you call the promoted bishop) forward. Then move the pawns on 6d and 5d forward (in that order). There are some counter-attacks I will be able to make, but I haven't figured them all out yet and I'm pretty sure you can still pull it off. Once you have my bishop and your generals/pawns are preventing me from making an offense, you will be on fairly equal footing with me.
Hopefully that works and you want to try it, because I wouldn't mind finishing this game. ;)

I am pretty sure The Inner Light is my all time favorite TNG episode. I find the whole concept really interesting.
I totally ripped it off in a short story I wrote many years back, where a man gets in a fight with his wife, goes out for a walk to cool off, stumbles into a large hole at a nearby construction site, wakes up, and the next thing he knows he is being chased down by an army of ogres, scooped up, thrown into a cage with a bunch of other humans, and sold off as a slave. For the first few years in this fantasy-esque world he is bent on getting home, but eventually becomes invested in his new life, writes off his old life as some weird vivid dream or fantasy, joins in a slave uprising, raises a family, lives to a ripe old age, and one morning wakes up in a deep hole at a construction site, just as discombobulated as the first time around, suddenly finding himself back in a strange existence he hardly even remembers and desperately wishing he could get back.
This sounds really cool, CP3S! Do you have it online somewhere to share? I'd be interested in reading it!
CP3S doesn't post here anymore...he hasn't been online for a while now.

It would be advisable to get a check up.
The mind like any part of the body, if it's acting in a noticeably detrimental way having it looked over by an expert is a solid policy.
Why treat a part of yourself in lesser way than a car or a computer?
It could be something physical like a thyroid problem in which case a simple course of tablets might radically change your life for the better.
I still think you can get that computer fixed too :-)
Welcome back.
Since you put Bingowings on ignore, Warbler, I'm quoting his post for your benefit. Lest you take offense at anything he wrote, I can assure you that I detect no ill-intent of any sort. ;)
